About MEPCO
History:
• On May 14, 1998, Govt. of Pakistan decided
corporatization of energy sector in Pakistan.
• MEPCO was established to acquire all properties,
rights, assets, obligations and liabilities of defunct
Multan Area Electricity Board, Grid Stations and
transmission lines of the supply system.
• After 20 years of service, MEPCO has been
directly and exclusively supplying electricity to 34
Million people of 13 districts of South Punjab.

About MEPCO
 MEPCO is the largest power distribution company in
the country operating exclusively in 13 administrative
districts of southern Punjab.
 it covers 50 constituencies of National Assembly of
Pakistan & 104 constituencies of Punjab Assembly.
 The service territory of the company is mostly rural, so
its customers profile is heavily dominated by domestic
category and that too by life line customers.
 Commercial organization work for profit.

MEPCO
 The training objective of MEPCO is puts into practice
a mission oriented training with a view to enhance
professional competence and efficiency of the technical
and commercial staff to achieve optimum operational
worthiness that’s why MEPCO establish the RTC and
CTC.
 Ultimately, all levels of personnel who better
understand the context of their job can become more
effective at work, which benefits them and the
organizations they work within it.

RTC MEPCO:
 Regional Training Center (RTC), MEPCO, a utility
training institute was established in 1994.
 RTC is a classified provider of training programs
tailored for the electric distribution company.
 They train utility professionals responsible for the
engineering, construction, maintenance, operation
and customer service in which they rely.

 RTC provide the different type of training to different
level of employees.
 RTC conduct the exam after training tenure of
employees.
 MEPCO get a huge amount of benefits through RTC
and CTC.
 But the lack of resources in these center are to be exist
so that the whole training objectives cannot be
achieved.
 The other main reason is that the employee who get
promotion have shown their seriousness in training the
rest of employees are not perform in effective way.
