Introduction

• The main objective of this project is to enhance the communication using LI-FI technology.
• Li-Fi is a high speed and wireless communication system that allows us to utilize the light we
use for a different purpose for connectivity.
• Visible light communication systems provide an alternative to the current standards of
wireless transfer of information, using light from LEDs as the communication medium.
Literature survey
Existing system

• Existing system uses Radio frequency based communication so the interference and noise of the
signal is high.
• Power consumption of existing system is high compared to proposed system.
Proposed System
• In the proposed method, we are using li-fi transmitters and receivers to transmit and receive the
voice data respectively.
• On the transmitter side, the voice signal is converted to an electrical signal using a microphone.
• At the receiver side, avalanche photo detector receives the light signal and correspondingly
generate an electrical signal proportional to it.

Methodology
Transmitter section:
• The Voice is stored in playback module WTV-SR, by means of the mic.
• The channel selection can be used to select the channel to record or edit the voice.
• Speech is an analog signal so it has to be converted into digital signal before it is amplified.
• Then it is transmitted to light by means of a Li-Fi drive.
• The crystal oscillator is used for the drive.
Receiver section:
• The LDR will detect the presence of light.
• Li-Fi receiver will receive the data sent by the transmitter.
• The UART converter is used to interface the receiver with controller. Then the audio is amplified and
can be heard from the speaker.

Advantages of LI-FI
• It is possible to achieve more than 10Gbps, theoretically allowing a high-definition film to be
downloaded in 30 sec.
• Mostly powered by LEDs so it is cost efficient.
• Transmission of data is fast and easy.
• Its main advantage is it’s Bandwidth is 10000 times than the radio waves.
Applications
• Security

• Under water application

• Hospital

• Industrial automation

• Dense urban environment

• Cellular communication

• EMI sensitive environment

• Augmented reality

• Localized advertising

• Indoor navigation
