Valve Clearance checking/ Adjustment, GS150
Valve clearance standard: IN/EX: 0.04~0.07mm In GS150 engine, the rocker arm was spring
loaded, when adjusting, please use a plier to lift
when engine is cold the rocker arm and insert the feeler (thickness)
gauge.
adjusting screw
Lock
nut
After turning the adjusting screw for desired clearance, hold the screw by its square head, and tighten the locknut.
Then try to remove the feeler (thickness) gauge from the tappet. Finally, pull out the feeler gauge, if the piece got stuck
too tight, the clearance can be too narrow and may cause performance/ starting problems. To make sure the clearance
is not too wide, you can use the bigger size to test again for 100% sure (for example using 0.09 for checking 0.08, should
be impossible to insert)
Valve Clearance checking/ Adjustment, GS200
As mentioned, in GS200
engine, the timing mark
of ACG flywheel is the
same, yet the mark on
camshaft should be
vertical to the surface as
shown.
