Computer Aided Production Planning
CAPP is confined to the problems of discrete manufacturing.

⊗ For a systematic approach to production planning and

control it is useful to subdivide the entire field into three
main areas:

1. Input information and influences of manufacturing,

2. Production planning,
3. Output information for the realization and control of
manufacturing (including feedback from manufacturing
itself).
FRTP - Evolve Software
⊗ Highly visual capacity planning and management tool.
⊗ Developed specifically to enable fashion manufacturer to
achieve a whole new level of visibility, efficiency and
control.
⊗ Highly visual and flexible.
⊗ ‘Drag and drop’ planning approach.

VARIOUS COMMANDS
Color Codes
Order completion on time

Order completion before time

Order delayed

Order delayed but can be managed

It indicates that fabric should have been arrived but it has not

It indicates that other pre-production events are late

Module 1
⊗ We were supposed to plan the order according to
delivery dates irrespective of the type of garment like
order of shirt in shirt line.
⊗ For getting better efficiency all orders are supposed to
be completed on time.
⊗ We have arranged the orders according to delivery
dates and randomly put orders in any of the column.
Module 1 (cont.)
⊗ After completion of this module we were given 10 extra
orders and products to add in the module and bring it to
the best efficient planning.
Planning Sheet
Loading Orders
Placing order in planning sheet
Order Plan
Report- Value of Output
Report- Value late order
Module 2

⊗ In module 2 we were supposed to plan the order

according to delivery dates and also according to types
of order.
⊗ Like skirt in skirt column.
⊗ It is represented by different colors- according to the
garment type.
Order Plan
Report- value of output
Report- Value late order
Module 3
⊗ The effect of multiple style changes on production
efficiency and performance is demonstrated.
⊗ Here, we had to minimize the startup losses through
intelligent order sequencing.
Order Plan
Report- value of output
Report- Value late order
Module 4
⊗ In module 4 we were supposed to balance the need of
sewing department according to the availability of the
specialized machines.
⊗ Like the one we did was for Twin Needle Machines.
Order Plan
Report- Value of Output
Report- Value late order
Module 5
⊗ In module 5 we were supposed to plan the order
according to delivery dates and also according to types
of order.
⊗ In this for getting better efficiency all orders are
supposed to be grey in colour. And no order should be
in red, orange or yellow in colour as it depicts late
order.
⊗ Grey bar indicates pre-production completed on times.
⊗ Red bar indicates pre-production was late and still
remaining late.
⊗ Green bar indicates pre-production is pending and
yet not overdue.
⊗ Red tick indicates event is complete, but it was late

⊗ Green tick indicates event is complete, and

completed on time.
⊗ Red clock indicates event is over standing and is late.
⊗ Green clock indicates event is over standing and not
yet due.
Module 5 (cont.)
Pre Production Problems
⊗ Red colour indicates fabric has arrived but late.
⊗ Orange colour indicates fabric should have arrived
but it has not arrived.
⊗ Yellow colour indicates that other pre-production
events are late.

Module 6
⊗ Module 6 was basically for our understanding
purpose, and we can also work on the same.
⊗ In this module whatever we have done till module
5, have to implement all those factors in it.

HOW TO CHECK REPORTS (CONT.)
LEARNING FROM FRTP SOFTWARE
⊗ Reduced process planning and production lead time;
faster response to engineering changes.
⊗ Greater process plan consistency; access to up-to-date
information in a central database.
⊗ Improved cost estimating procedures and fewer
calculation errors.
⊗ More complete and detailed process plans
⊗ Improved production scheduling and capacity utilization.
⊗ Improved ability to introduce new manufacturing
technology and rapidly update process plans to utilize
the improved technology.
