How to lift the fluid :
Psep Pwh
• Decrease the fluid
gradient in the tubing
• Add some extra energy
to push fluid well from Gradient
surface
• Solution : Energy ?
Use the artificial lift
Pwf
Artificial Lift
As pressure in the reservoir declines, the producing capacity
of the wells will decline. The decline is caused by a decrease
in the ability of the reservoir to supply fluid to the well bore.
Methods are available to reduce the flowing well bottom hole
pressure by artificial means.
Comparison of Lift Method
• PCP Driver, uses electrical energy to prevent from back spin, complete with compact
gear reducer coupled with a magnetic motor and regenerative variable frequency
drive. (no belts, no hydraulic manifold)
• Belt Driver, Use electrical motor and Belt to transfer energy become rotation
energy
Accessories
Zero-Leak Oryx Rotary Seal
Available option on all drive head models, the Oryx rotary seal
is low maintenance and has a zero tolerance for leaks. The
early warning seal failure system helps to minimize
environmental impact.
Motors
provides robust electric or hydraulic motors for smooth
operation of the PCP system. 4 or 6-pole motors are available
with all levels of protection (Exd, ExnA, Standard), and ATEX, IEC
and NEMA certifications.

Stator - Elastomer
Elastomer selection is a critical step in designing a Progressing Cavity
Pump. It influences the pump’s lifespan and performance
PCP Completion tools
Rod string
Rod string completion is carefully selected depending on project, well profile,
torque requirements and service tools available on site.
• Polished rod
With an optimal surface finish to ensure an appropriate sealing in the
stuffing box, PCP offers 11 to 44 feet length, 1 1/4” and 1 1/2” diameter
polished rods
• API Sucker rods, pony rods and couplings
Grade D (4 142) Sucker Rods, from OD 3/4” to 1.1/2”, designed for
moderate to heavy loads in non-corrosive or effectively inhibited wells. 1 1/4”
and 1 1/2” sucker rods feature a modified pin to give more torque resistance
for PCP operations. A kit of pony rods – from 1 to 12 ft – for spacing the
rotor/stator configuration.
• Non-rotating centralizers
Non-rotating centralizers help prevent rotational wear of the tubing
• Hollow rods
produced from seamless pipes with box-box connections, are the
best choice for high-torsion operation. Tubing wear is drastically reduced
thanks to external and near flush joints.
Tubing string (pump assembly)
• Tubing drain
provides a simple method for draining the tubing string
before tripping out of the well.
• Pup joint
Connected to the top of the stator, the pup joint allows
the rotor’s eccentric motion.
• Torque anchor
torque anchor which combines both centralizing and
auto-locking function.
• Gas separator
Connected below the torque anchor, the gas separator
uses centrifugal forces
to separate gas from the produced liquids, before they enter the
pump. There are 2 configurations of the PCP Gas Separator:
light Oil: for oil 24° API and greater
heavy Oil: for oil less than 24° API
PCP Worldwide Application
On and offshore medium to light oil production
The ability to pump sand and viscous fluids has made the Progressing
Cavity Pump the most popular choice for handling heavy oil and sand
production.
PCP Worldwide Application
Thermal recovery of extra heavy oil and bitumen
Methane is recovered from coal seams. Natural water pressure traps the
gas down hole and must be pumped off the well (dewatering).
