HISTORY

Yoga is derived from Sanskrit word “YUJ” which


means “to add” “to join” “to unite” or “to attach”.
It is originated from Veda, oldest scripture of India
(4000 B.C) and systematically presented by the
Sage Patanjali in Yogasutra around 150 B.C.
Evidences shows that Beginnings of Yoga is related
to the Indus Saraswati Civilization in northern
India.
FOUNDER

Hiranyagarbha (The one lord of creation) is the


founder of Yoga. Hiranya- light and Garbha-
source .

1. PHYSICAL PURITY
 Internal organs of our body can be
cleansed by various Yoga exercises.

 Dhoti, Nauli, Basti, Kapalbhati and


Tratak etc., are such yoga exercises
which keeps the internal organs of our
body clean.
