Activity No. 1
Preliminary Data
To better understand the aviation industry’s situation in order to know which business to establish for a feasibility study.
Based on the conducted survey, the researchers The business target of the researchers are airline companies and

minimizing the bird strike incident can lessen the overall cost of an
airline brought by damaged engines, delayed flights, and
compensation to the passengers affected. The main components
of the proposed product will be integration of two existing
technologies, namely, drones and noise emitting devices. Drones
and noise emitting devices will be modified according to its
specified function.

STRENGTHS OPPORTUNITIES
2. Humane way in dealing with bird activities. 2. Ease in aircraft operations (take-off and landing)
THREATHS
WEAKNESSES
Old methods in deterring birds.
1. UAV’s mediocre flight time.
Other bird deterring technologies.
2. Maintenance.
UAV’s vulnerability to cyber-attack.
3. Low payload.
Socio Economic Impact
The UAV bird deterrent came to mind because bird strikes can negatively affect the
business and the life of everything that is involved in air transport. From the aircraft itself, to the
maintenance crew, delay of flights, air traffic, passenger safety and so on. The main objective of this
feasibility study being conducted is to improve safety while gaining profit. Bird Strikes are accidents
that are considered somewhat unavoidable since people cannot fully control the birds (like the
weather).
Damage can be minimized if proper procedure, and handling of technologies are
implemented while being also considerate to wildlife. Less occurrence of bird strikes means better
flow in the air transport industry equals to more profit. The sound waves produced will only scare the
birds out of the possible places that it can affect an aircraft in landing or takeoff. The additional cost
for the overall operation of the UAV bird deterrent will be significantly less than handling damages
cost, rebooking and possible lawsuits from PETA if animals are mistreated.
