PROTECTION (EMP’S)
EMP’S
• Consists of both an electrical field and a magnetic field
• Both can not be stopped.
• You must divert both fields from reaching your electronics.
EMP’S
• If the EMP is outside of the enclosure, the
magnetic field lines will travel through the
material of the enclosure on their way back
to the source, never finding it more efficient
to permeate the air space inside the
enclosure. For these reasons, enclosing
either the source of the field, or the thing(s)
that you wish to protect from the field, offers
the most effective use of the shielding
material.
EMP’S
• Here's how the permeabilities of some common materials compare:
Air ........... 1
Copper ...... 1
Aluminum ... 1
Tin ............. 1
Lead .......... 1
Glass……….1
Nickel .................. 100
Commercial Iron ... 200 The most powerful EMP attractor.
Stainless Steel ....... 200
MagnetShield ........ 4000
CONSTRUCTING THE
ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD (EMF) CAGE
• Electromagnetic Field (EMF) Cage consists of steel and magnets.
CONSTRUCTING THE
ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD (EMF) CAGE
• Construct or buy an Electromagnetic Field (EMF) Cage.
• The cage must be constructed of a material that will hold magnets, Steel
or iron.
Remove the handle.
No Aluminum.
CONSTRUCTING THE
ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD (EMF) CAGE
• Warning: DO NOT GROUND THE EMF CAGE
• EM Fields are like water to some extent. A ground is the equivalent of
pulling the plug on a full bath tub. All the water (EM Fields) will be
attracted too it and will flow through the drain (EMF cage and ground).
• Grounding the EMF Cage will turn it into a conduit directing EM energy
through the Cage into the ground.
• Also this will increase the amount of EMF energy that will be flowing
through the EMF Cage. Then you will need a much more powerful and
larger EMF Cage.
