Relation between India and Malaysia
Malaysia is the 19th largest investor in India with cumulative FDI inflow valued at
USD618.37
Indian industrial, IT and healthcare companies are also investing in Malaysia
And with around 150,000 Indians skilled and semi-skilled workers been
employed in the country in the sectors of IT, manufacturing and banking.
In 2017, India and Malaysia signed a new business deal amounting to U$36
billion with the exchange of 31 business MoUs: the largest in the history of
economic relations between the two countries.
COMPANIES COMMISSION OF
MALAYSIA(SSM)
SSM is a statutory body formed under an Act of Parliament that regulates
corporate and business affairs in Malaysia.
SSM is formed in 2002 under the Companies Commission of Malaysia Act
2001,assuming the functions of Registrar of the companies and Registry of
Business.
INCORPORATION OF LOCAL COMPANY
There are 3 types of companies that can be incorporated under companies Act 1965:
1. A Company limited by shares
2. An Unlimited Company
3. A Company limited by guarantee.
Registration of Procedures:
• Name search with SSM and Application For Name.
• Lodgment of Registration Documents.
Registration Documents:
• A certified copy of certification of incorporation of the foreign company
• A certified copy of the foreign company’s Memorandum and Articles of Association.
• Form 79 (Return By Foreign company giving particulars of Directors)
• Form 80 (Statutory declaration by agent of Foreign Company
• A copy of letter from SSM approving the name of the Foreign company
