Buying Behaviour-Black Box Model

a model used in the study of the buying behavior of consumers

the model assumes that what takes place in the consumer's 'black box' of the consumer's mind can be inferred from a study
of observed stimuli and responses.
How this black box model helped in understanding
consumer behaviour in branded apparels?
• As taking example of Peter England, the brand with the application of
right marketing mix was able to provide right product at right time at
right place with right price.
• This awareness triggered the stimulus in the form of need of
purchasing the branded product.
• In form of other external factors, Peter England developed a variety of
product that matched with every requirement of customers in
different aspect of factors ( in terms of Demographic, situational,
economical, lifestyle) that may affect purchasing decision of products.
Buyer’s Mind
• This section of the model totally depends on the fact that how the
purchasing decision of any customer is influenced based on two
categorized factors that is internal influence and decision making
process.
Responses
After the critical assessment by Peter England on their brand value , quality and other factors they were able to be in the lime
light of the audience they always wanted to capture.

This section of the black box deals with the fact if the purchase has been or not carried out.

Purchase totally depends on the fact-

If the product required is available or not.

If the product has some brand name associated with it so as to give it a identity.

If the product provided is worthy of its value to the customer.

If the company is finding new ways to reach to customers i.e. customer can avail their brand online or offline.

If the brand is getting technologically advance both in terms of providing service and accepting payments.
