Introduce yourself and others


A. KOMPETENSI DASAR
1.1 Mensyukuri kesempatan dapat mempelajari bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa
pengantar komunikasi internasional yang diwujudkan dalam semangat belajar.
2.2 Menunjukkan perilaku jujur, disiplin, percaya diri, dan bertanggung jawab dalam
melaksanakan komunikasi transaksional dengan guru dan teman.
3.1 Menganalisis fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan pada teks
pemaparan jati diri, sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya
4.1 Menyusun teks lisan dan tulis sederhana, untuk memaparkan, menanyakan, dan
merespon pemaparan jati diri, dengan memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur
teks, dan unsur kebahasaan, secara benar dan sesuai dengan konteks.
B. TUJUAN PEMBELAJARAN
Melalui kegiatan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik dengan model inqury learning
peserta didik dapat :
 Menyatakan pemaparan jati diri melalui kegiatan introducing to your friends denga benar
dan percaya diri.
 Menjelaskan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks pemaparan jati diri
melalui kegiatan analisa text email dengan benar dan bertanggung jawab.
 Mendemonstrasikan pemaparan jati diri formal dan informal situation berdasarkan
beberapa contoh teman 75% sesuai.
 Menganalisis ungkapan memaparan jati diri melalui kegiatan membaca email text dengan
benar dan tanggung jawab.
 Menyusun teks sederhana untuk memaparkan, menanyakan, dan merespon pemaparan jati
diri dalam bentuk short dialog serta short conversation dengan benar dan percaya diri.
 Membuat teks tulis sederhana untuk memaparkan, menanyakan, dan merespon
pemaparan jati diri dalam bentuk balas email dari pen pal melalui membuat short replay
text dengan benar dan percaya diri.
B. TUJUAN PEMBELAJARAN

 Membedakan cara memaparkan jati diri sendiri dan orang lain melalui
kegiatan mengamati gambar secara berpasangan dengan benar
 Menyebutkan ungkapan memaparkan jati diri orang lain melalui kegiatan
menyimak video dan conversation practice dengan benar

 Menyebutkan struktur kebahasaan yang digunakan dalam memaparkan jati


diri sendiri dan orang lain melalui kegiatan membaca contoh email from
Hannah secara berkelompok secara individu dengan ketepatan 75%
 Mendemonstrasikan ungkapan dalam memperkenalkan diri sendiri dan orang
lain melalui kegiatan conversation practice secara bersama sama dengan
benar dan percaya diri
 Membuat surat pendek tentang memperkenalkan orang lain melalui kegiatan
writing short letter secara individu dengan benar dan bertanggung jawab
C. INDIKATOR
3.1.1 Menyatakan ungkapan yang digunakan untuk memaparkan jati diri dan
orang lain.
3.1.2 Menjelaskan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks
pemaparan jati diri dan orang lain.

formal dan informal situation

lain.
4.1.1 Membuat teks tulis sederhana untuk memaparkan, menanyakan, dan
merespon pemaparan jati diri dalam bentuk balas email dari pen pal.
4.1.2 Membuat teks sederhana untuk memaparkan, menanyakan, dan
merespon pemaparan jati diri dan memperkenalkan orang lain dalam bentuk

What is Introduction?

 Introduction is an expression of introduction to know one's identity, we need

to introduce ourselves to a clearer communication process with whom we

talk, about what we are talking about and other conditions.

 There are two forms of introduction that is formal and informal


formal introduction
A formal introduction is used when you introduce yourself in a formal
room for example. Self in front of class, workroom, meeting
room and Official forums, such as seminars. Formal intakes are used in
formal situations.

Informal Introduction
Informal introduction is used when you introduce yourself to someone at about
the same age with you. Informal introduction id used in a non formal
situation. Usually used on unofficial events or forums, such as introductions when
in public meet new friends or friends.

The Text Structure of Introduce Yourself
The thing you should know is about the 3 main points in conveying a material:

1. Opening
 Formal / Official: Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening.
 Informal / Unofficial: Hi, Hello
2. Main Idea
 Name - Place and Date Born
 Age - Address
 Status - Religion
 Blood Code - Hobby
 Family Background - Closing

3. Closing ---- Is a cover sentence or often called Leave Taking.

Hello, Alia! Let me introduce myself. My name is Hannah.

I know your name from my friend, Caroline. She told me that you sent her an email telling her that you would like
to have more pen pals from the US. I’d really like to be your E-pal. You sound really cool!

I guess I’d better tell you something about myself first. I’m 16 years old and I attend Thomas Edison High School
here in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. I have two brothers and two half-sisters and I’m the middle child. My father
died a few years ago so my mother runs the house and the family business. My father was a barista.

I have lots of hobbies. I like music – mostly classical music and folk music – but I don’t play an instrument. I like
sports, especially tennis and basketball. At school I’m in the basketball team and I spend most of my extra-
curricular time playing basketball. I’m into animals very much. My sister and I have three dogs, a rabbit and an
iguana. They need lots of attention as you can imagine. At school, I have many Hmong friends who were not fully
fluent in English. Their family moved here from Asia. I enjoy talking to them about our different cultures. My
favorite subjects at school are art and geography. I think I’d like to become a park ranger when I graduate,
perhaps work for the National Parks Service. I haven’t got much interest in fashion, although we have ‘Mall of
America,’ the biggest mall in Minnesota. We can reach the mall very easily. A commuter train runs every 15
minutes; buses also come from different directions. We can also drive to the mall. It’s much faster than going
there by train or by bus. I don’t like reading but I love drawing and painting. How about you? Please drop me a
line, Alia! Can’t wait to hear from you!
