• Nananahimik ka ba maski may mali sa paligid?
• Tinamad ka na bang gawin ang iyong takdang-

• Pumasok ka na ba nang huli sa eskuwelahan?

Anak ka ng ewan. Paano

Leadership Tips
from Jose Rizal
BE DISPENSABLE
For his intelligence, talents, and
popularity, Rizal never regarded
himself as indispensable. On the
contrary, he repeatedly encouraged
others to excel in their respective
fields and one day take over in
leading the nation toward greener
pastures.
DEVELOP YOUR TALENT
Rizal encouraged his peers to develop
their talents. He believed that every Filipino
has a unique talent that can be harnessed
toward the national good. According to the
hero, good citizenship consists of “working
with a purpose by using one’s heart and
head.” Writing, Rizal’s medium for spreading
his thoughts and advocacy, is just one of the
many ways which one can contribute to
social change.
LOOK AT THE BRIGHTER SIDE

Amid all his troubles, Rizal never

lost his optimism. Sure, he had low
moments, especially during the days
when he had no money or was
criticized by his friends. But he never
let loneliness, penury, or the adverse
opinion of friends get the better of
him. He made a conscious effort to put
his sadness and disappointments at
bay.
ACCEPT CRITICISM
Even a man of exceptional talents like
Rizal is not spared from criticism. But Rizal
did not accept criticism hurled against him
because he never considered himself
infallible or perfect. Rizal accepted the
barbs of his detractors with an open
mind.
PRAISE YOUR “PLARIDELS”

Not one to hug the limelight

or put down others, Rizal
encouraged colleagues who
showed promise to come out of
their shell and shine.
STAY FOCUSED
BE CALM
Minutes before his execution,
a doctor checked Rizal’s heart
rate. It was normal, a scientific
proof that he did not panic nor
was fearful of facing the ultimate
challenge in his life.
