Identification Badge
The Medical Staff Office is located on the first floor of the hospital and is
open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Is a primary resource for physicians and their office staff and serves as a single
point of contact for the hospital when you have questions, suggestions or any
concerns. Specifically, the department staff will:
• Visit your office on an ongoing basis to communicate up-to-date
information
• Provide concern/problem resolutions in a timely fashion
• Provide introductions and contact information for hospital staff and
other physicians
• Communicate new services to meet the needs of our physicians
and their offices

Strategic Priorities
Log on using your physician number as the log in and password. All hospital
policies along with divisional/departmental policies are located on Policy Tech.
All Medical Staff members/LIPs are responsible for having a working knowledge
of policies including but not limited to the following:
For Referrals
• All psychiatric consult requests for patients on the in-patient floor will be
called DIRECTLY to the on-call psychiatrist. The on-call psychiatrist schedule is
located on HCNet with other consult schedules.
Response Time
• Psychiatrist will see patient in person within 24 hours or you can contact the
on-call psychiatrist directly (after initial consult) to discuss medication
recommendations, clarify questions, or get ETA from psychiatrist
Ethics
The following Employee Health Services are available for physician non-
employees:
• All hospital personnel including the Medical and Dental staff must be
vaccinated annually against the seasonal flu.
• The hospital’s Employee Health department will offer the vaccine at
no cost.
• Verification of receiving the seasonal influenza vaccine is required.
• Exemptions due to medical contra-indications or religious reasons
will need to be applied for each year.
• Medical or dental staff who cannot produce proof of vaccination or
exemption within four weeks from the availability of the vaccine at
Holy Cross Hospital will be subject to restrictions as determined by
the Medical Executive Committee.
Accreditation and Regulatory Services
Responds to and prepares for more than 30 unannounced surveys per year
(state, CMS, etc.); also responds to complaints from regulatory agencies
• The Joint Commission can come at any time but will be here for our triennial
survey in 2011
• The Joint Commission recently reaccredited the hospital in stroke care
