History of Barangay Borabod

Many years have passed; Sitio Borabod is one of the vast

Agricultural land area. The vastness of Borabod is beyond the border
of every Barangay around it, at around 1900-1950 they said that the
Barangay’s nearby are part of Borabod , at present day it is a locality
rich in Agricultural, hog and Poultry’s and Livelihood Production, a
place of which residence are hardworking and god fearing.

If our predecessors would have a chance to read this, they might

ask, where can they find this Barangay Borabod?
 Thinking why? It is because until the year of 1950’s the
Borabod was not the original forename of this Barangay,
according to our grandparents, “Anghit” was the first name
of this locality, funny to listen but it is true. You might ask,
why this Barangay was called Anghit before? The answer
elucidate the characteristic and topography of this Barangay.
Long before, large percentage of working residence are in
the field of agriculture, but it was not the people that has an
unpleasant smell, the smell came from their animals, such as
poultry, livestock, and the carabaos.
 The said name cause shamed for the residence of the
Barangay, and all other problem came along the way. Due
to this the constituents acted under duress to properly
name this Sitio and get rid of the name Anghit that they
keep uttering.
The action of the constituents resulted to an agreement
of properly naming the Barangay, at a new name as
Borabod, the delineate to a natural water source or boro-
boro and springs that never cease giving out water and at
the same time abundantly present in the said place.
 The motion of properly naming the Barangay was
enacted at the year 1950 and since that time, the name
Anghit gradually disappeared, and the name Borabod has
become known as one of the Barangay of Daet.
 Location of Barangay Borabod
Borabod is located at the northern part of Daet, Camarines
Norte, west of Barangay Sais, nortwest of Barangay Gubat,
east of Barangay Awitan and south of the Barangay Bagasbas.
Barangay Borabod was estimated more or less two kilometers
from down town Daet, from the reference point (Barangay
Hall) transportation by means of Jeepneys, Tricycles and
Kalesa.
 Topography
A vast Agricultural land Barangay, classified with three (3)
kind of land and its used about 60% agricultural area, 30%
plain (residential) 5% hilly, 3% swamp and 2% gasangan
or nipa plantation.
