 BROAD DUTIES OF BSO
 Responsible for efficient functioning of B/S branch
in the division.
Custodian of all bldgs in stn.
Handing/taking over of bldgs.
Physical check/initiation of occupation returns and
ensuring recovery of LF (rent) & allied charges.
Payment of rates and taxes.
Assessment and recovery of barrack-damages.
 All matters pertaining to hiring of bldgs.
 Care of vacant bldgs/runways etc.

 Furniture
 Preparation of estimates for new supplies of
furniture, renewals & repairs.
 Maint of furniture & div stock economically & for
investigating & reporting losses & irregularities.
 Half yearly insp of furniture and prompt execution
of repairs/action for disposal of U/S furniture.
 Ensuring regular stock-taking & dealing with
discrepancies.
 Supervision of furniture contracts.

 Procurement and replenishment of stores of div
stock.
 Provision, custody, maintenance, issue &
accounting of all stores including regular stock
taking.
 Security & fire-fighting of furniture yard & stores.
 Keeping all revenue , furniture, stores records upto
date as per orders.

matters & represent GE in Quartering Committees.
Custody & upkeep of MES IB & accounting for
revenue receipts.
Disposal of BER Eqpt/Salvage stores /Plants/Vehs
and stores
Disposal of surplus steel.
Progressing Loss statements, Rly claims.
