of Baptism
The Sacrament of Baptism
 gives our souls the
new life of sanctifying
grace by which we
become children of
God, members of the
Church, and heirs of
heaven.
The Sacrament of Baptism

Christian life, the gate
way to life in the
spirit (vitae spiritualis
ianua, and the door
which gives access to
the other sacraments.

to be baptized in water or
pouring on his head

words: I baptize you in the
name of the Father, and

The Necessity of Baptism

Baptism is necessary for the


salvation of human beings,
because Christ said: “ unless
a man is born through water
and spirit, he cannot enter
the Kingdom of God.” (JOHN 3:5)
Who can receive Baptism?
“Every person not
yet baptized and
only such a person
is able to be
baptized.”

TWO KINDS OF BAPTISM

fault? Would they be saved?

Symbol Meaning
Water cleansing, death to an old life of sin and
