Objectives
● Identity the possible risk factors that contribute to the development of mental disorders in the
students of the university.
● Transmite what the mental disorders are and how they can be prevented.
● Develop effective and profitable intersectoral strategies and interventions for the promotion,
protection and restoration of mental health.
What are mental
disorders?

The WHO defines mental disorders


as a combination of abnormal
thoughts, perceptions, emotions,
behaviour and relationships with
others.

Who is at risk of suffering from mental
disorders?
Anyone who in their work, social, cultural and family environment has the stress, genetics,
nutrition, perinatal infections and exposure to environmental hazards.

There is no way to prevent mental illness. However, if
you suffer from a mental illness, taking steps to control
stress, increase your resistance and lift your self-esteem
can help control symptoms.
Conclusions
If you think that you have some of the symptoms or
even some of your friends, ask for psychological help,
but above all take care of your mental health and take
routine exams, just for prevention of any disease.
