• Students in the institute are facing problem of non-availability of sufficient reference • Success would be achieve when a mechanism would be created which would provide materials for academic activities (Problem Statement) knowledge about various courses offered at the institute • Senior batches of the institute have already carried out research / project work on various topics being taught, this could serve as an explainer for junior batch students • For the students, success would be achieved when they won’t have to worry about cross • The main purpose is to create a system wherein knowledge gained by senior batches is field knowledge irrespective of the elective subject they have taken preserved & transferred to junior batches when they require • For the purpose of solving the problem, we would need details about the cases already • For faculties, success would be achieved when the students would be able to prepare in a discussed in the classes, term end project reports prepared by senior batches, the better manner for class discussion as well as for exams mistakes identified by faculties, cases & research papers prepared by PGP/FPM students of the institute • The problem has been highlighted by the PGP09 batch students especially those who lack PROJECT MILESTONES & SCHEDULE industry experience as they find difficulty in gaining practical knowledge which is a must Project Milestones Owner Time- tool for carrying out academic tasks at MBA schools period GOALS 1. Set project scope and goals (prepare Project Sponsor/Team Leader, 15 Days • To create a mechanism for storage & transfer of knowledge from one batch to another Charter, engage team, collect data) Facilitator batch within a period of 1 year 2. Understand the current situation Facilitator/ Team 15 Days 3. Analyze the current situation (root causes) Facilitator/ Team 30 Days SCOPE (IN BOUNDS) SCOPE (OUT OF BOUNDS) 4. Define a vision of success Facilitator/ Team 10 Days • Means for creation of mechanism • Limited to only academic activity • Stakeholder confirmation • Only include those items as may be 5. Generate, evaluate and select improvements Team/ Sponsor 60 Days • Implementation of mechanism & testing permitted by faculties & students 6. Implement changes and make adjustments Team Leader/ Staff 30 Days of the same 7. Measure performance Sponsor/Team Leader 15 Days CUSTOMERS/STAKEHOLDERS TEAM MEMBERS 8. Document standard work and lessons learned Team 15 Days • STUDENTS • BOOK VENDORS 1. Malay Bhavsar 5. Aakash • FPM SCHOLARS 2. Nakul Pathak 9. Sustain improvement Team Leader 30 Days • ADMINISTRATION 6. Shubham Singla • FACULTIES • ALUMNI 3. Ankit Singh 7. Vasu Jain • IT STAFF 4. Tanya Jain RESOURCES: • Materials: CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS Case studies • Creation of Knowledge base Research Papers • Availability of diverse & exhaustive content regarding any topic E-Lectures • Easy access to the data Research data • Able to obtain knowledge regarding courses which they have not been able to take in E-books the elective process Journals & articles Class notes & project reports of senior batches 5 Why Analysis • Observed Problem: Students are demanding more visiting faculties to be invited, more courses to be offered and ultimately re-conduct courses selection process • Why1? Students are not happy with the course selection procedure • Why 2? They are not getting the subjects and faculty combination they wanted to • Why3? There are too many students preferring one combination of subject- faculty combination and there is biasness towards in-house and visiting faculties for some subjects • Why4? Institute cannot provide access to same subject-faculty combination as there is a limitation to number of students in a class and also number of hours a visiting faculty can spend teaching in IIM Rohtak • Why5? There is no mechanism to store and share videos and learnings by faculties and senior students in detailed format Issue Tree Audi-Visual Recordings Recorded Lectures In-Class Presentation slides
