This three (3)-unit course is designed to introduce both

traditional and innovative technologies to facilitate and foster

meaningful and effective learning experiences. Students are
expected to demonstrate a sound understanding of the nature,
evaluation, application and production of the various types of
educational technologies. Likewise students are expected of
acquiring skills in integrating technology in various content areas.
Course activities are focused on the design and development of
ICT-based instructional plan.
EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY 1
 ATTENDANCE  REPORT
 QUIZZES  RECITATION
 LEARNING LOG  ASSIGNMENT
 TERM PROJECT  COMPILATION
 ACTIVITY  Others as deemed necessary

NOTE: All activities must be submitted in a short (8.5 X 11)

bond paper unless otherwise instructed.
EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY 1
1. Respect. Students are requested and/or expected to show respect to one
another by observing silence and listening especially if somebody is talking or
sharing his/her ideas to the class.
2. Accessibility. Everyone has an equal right to be educated efficiently and
comfortably. Students with disabilities are encouraged to discuss their individual
needs and accommodations (e.g. sitting in front for those with visual or hearing
problems, objection to colored visual aids for the color blind.)
3. Collaboration. You are encouraged to do group study since it is usually more
effective than studying alone. However, try to do homework and individual
activities by yourself first. If you’re stuck for 30-45 minutes or so, get help from
your classmates, and make sure to acknowledge them in your deliverable. This
will not affect your grade, but it’s a professional and polite thing to do. Strictly
no collaboration of any form during quizzes and major exams. Likewise, asking
other people to do your work for you is not considered as a collaborative effort,
but is a form of academic dishonesty.

4. Attendance. A student who incurred twelve (12) cumulative absences will be
Unofficially Dropped. To be excused in class, students are required to submit an
excuse slip a Re-admittance slip duly signed by their parent/guardian, Guidance
Counselor and approved by the Students Affairs Coordinator for every absence
made. Students cannot be readmitted to class after the absence unless they
present an approved readmission slip.
5. Tardiness. If you report to class 15 minutes after the scheduled time you will
be marked late. Three (3) counts late is equivalent to one (1) count of absent.
6. Make-up Works. Make-up works are only possible on major exams and
laboratories. Make sure the reason for not taking exams or attending laboratory
sessions on time is acceptable (e.g. illness, family emergency), and is supported
by valid proof. You will not be allowed to take make-up exams without excuse
slips or exam permits.

7. Deadlines. Requirements not submitted on or before the deadline due to
unacceptable reasons (e.g. poor time management) will not be considered for giving
incomplete grade. Late work will be accepted only until 3 days after the due date
and will receive a 30% deduction for each day late after the deadline, not including
weekends and
holidays.
8. Dress Code. Students must come to class following the institution’s guidelines on
dress code or the college schedule of uniform. Scarves, earrings for boys, caps, and
loud and colorful hair colors are not allowed inside the school premises.
9. Plagiarism. Don't copy material (e.g. text, images, source codes, videos for
presentations) from any website or printed materials such as books, and submit
them as if they were your own work. Always cite your sources. Not doing so is
unethical, and is a form of academic dishonesty. If you borrow someone else's idea,
and rephrase them with your own words, it's still not your idea, and you should still
cite your sources.

10. Academic Dishonesty. This class shall adhere to the Institution’s policy on
academic dishonesty. Any form of cheating, lying and other forms of unethical
behavior in relation to formal academic exercise (admission, registration,
examination, instruction, practicum and graduation) is considered as acts of
academic dishonesty. All forms of dishonest work will have corresponding
sanctions. It's possible that such works will not be graded at all.
11. Cell Phones and other Gadgets. Cell phones and other gadgets must be
turned off or put in silent mode while in class and during exams. Those who will
violate this policy will face the corresponding sanctions such as confiscation of
gadgets.
12. Exam Papers. All exam papers will be returned to students within ten (10)
days from the day of examinations.

EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY 1 : REVIEW

13. Exam Permits. Students should submit examination permits to the proctor
during examination periods before taking the exam. An attendance sheet must be
filled in by each student on the day of the exam. In case of failure to take the
exam, they can still take the Special Exam the next meeting after the exam period,
and present the necessary permits.
14. Faculty Attendance. Late (15 minutes after the scheduled time) and absent
faculty members must be reported immediately to the Office of the Dean.
15. Cleanliness. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness before and after the
scheduled class. Violators will be sanctioned accordingly.

EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY 1 : REVIEW

At this time when the rapid effects of information and communication
technology are being felt in all walks of life, education which is an instrument for
adapting to change, has to undergo unprecedented reforms. The global educational
landscape has been transformed as educational technology has converged with
information and communication technology. This has largely affected the way
teachers teach; the way students learn and the way educational institutions are
being supervised and managed. Retooling teachers on ICT skills, providing them
opportunities to master and use them towards creating an improved teaching and
learning environment is of paramount importance. The new paradigm of education
also requires that teachers should be adept in integrating ICT with pedagogical
practices so as to develop 21st century skills among the pupils and students, Garo
(2008).

EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY 1
The definitions discloses in common that
educational technology encompasses the use of
instructional media as part of the complex process of
teaching and learning and stresses its ultimate goal of
improving any teaching-learning situation.

Likewise, it can be interpreted in a broad or limited way.

In a restricted or limited interpretation, educational
technology may mean the popular use of audiovisual aids
and technological resources while generally speaking it
covers the complex process of teaching and learning.
EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY 1 : REVIEW
Furthermore, as a systematic process,
educational technology undergoes four
phases, namely:
1. Identification of objectives;
2. Design of learning experiences;
3. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the learning
experiences, and
4. Improvement of the learning experiences in
order to achieve the desired outcome

DIGITAL DIVIDE
A term Coined by former Assistant Secretary of Commerce for
Telcommunication and Communication and Communication
Larry Irving, Jr., to focus public awareness on the GAP in
access to information resources and services between those
with the means to purchase the computer hardware and
software necessary to connect to the Internet and low-income
families and communities that cannot
afford network access. Public libraries are helping to bridge
the gap between information "haves" and "have-nots" with
the assistance of substantial grants from industry leaders
such as Bill Gates of Microsoft. Synonymous
with information gap.
