What is flarenet?
Its very user friendly software & it’s a steady state flare & relief
network simulator
Flarenet sizes & check the network against design constraint and
any violations will be flagged clearly by the program

Following are the documents/information required to
start FLARENET modeling:
Process Input
• P&ID’s for HP & LP flare header
• Relief valve datasheet/Summary sheet
• Blowdown Summary sheet
• Process Design Basis ( For information on minimum wind
speed and minimum ambient temperature)
• Vendor curves for flare stack
Piping Input
• Latest Plot plan
• Isometrics of main HP & LP flare header
• Isometrics of tail pipes (assume length based on plot plan in
early stage and update it later based on actual piping
Isometrics)
• Updated model based on piping layout
HSE Input
• Identify fire zones on plot plan

Defining the scenario
Different scenarios will be set up to stimulate various process
condition
Define the system design constrains
- Maximum allowable mach number.
- Maximum allowable noise.
- Maximum allowable liquid velocity.
- Maximum allowable Rho V2.

Offshore Flares
Offshore Flares Installation:
1. Flare boom or tower connected to the production facilities by a
bridge supported pipe (see image)
2. Floating flare secured to the seabed and connected to the
production facility by a flexible hose (see image)
3. Boom cantilevered from the production facility structure (see
image)
4. Vertical flare tower mounted on the production facility structure
(see image)
