website that allows registered users to create

and keep in touch with friends, family and
colleagues

• Launched on February 4, 2004, by Mark Zuckerberg.
• Total of users: More than 1.44 billion
• Instagram is an online mobile photo-sharing, video-
sharing and social networking service
• Enables users to take pictures and videos, and
share them on a variety of social networking
platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and
Flickr
• Created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger
• Launched in October 2010 as a free mobile app.
• The service rapidly gained popularity, with over
100 million active users as of April 2012 and over
300 million as of December 2014.
• Twitter is a free microblogging service that allows
registered members to broadcast short posts called
tweets and follow other users' tweets by using
multiple platforms and devices.
• Based in San Francisco and has more than 25 offices
around the world.
• Created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan
Williams, Biz Stone and Noah Glass and launched by
July 2006
• The service rapidly gained worldwide popularity, with more
than 100 million users who in 2012 posted 340 million
tweets per day. As of May 2015, Twitter has more than 500
million users, out of which more than 302 million are active
users.

 DISADVANTAGES
• More than half (53%) of the respondents changed

impact had been negative.
