Leadership Contemporary Theories on Leadership
• Path-Goal Theory – a theory developed by
Theories Robert House which states that the leader’s
task is to lead his followers or subordinates in
achieving their goals by providing them
direction needed in order to ensure
compatibility of these said goals with the
organization’s goal.
Leadership House identified four leadership behaviors:

guidelines to followers

concern and friendliness
3. Participative leadership – leaders asks for
suggestions from followers before deciding
4. Achievement-oriented leadership – leaders
