 Exercises:
 Johari window
 Breathing and quality of breathing
 EFT exercise
 Breathing and quality of breathing
 Circle of excellence
Spiritual Motivation
 The way the Johari window changes depends on the development and
progress of learning to work with this exercise.
 In education it can be used for giving feed back
Spiritual Motivation

Situations that the Johari window can be used:

 In intervision
 In supervison
 In excercise to learn about self image
 Tool to help people get more insight so that communication can be
improved
Spiritual motivation
 The Yohari window
 Luft and Ingham called their window Johari window after combining
their first names. Koe and Harry.
 Developped for understanding and training selfawareness, personal
development, improving communications, interpersonal relationships,
group dynamics, team development and intergroup relationships.
Spritual motivation
 The Johari window is also referred as to a “ disclosure and feedback
model of self awareness.
 It represents information – feelings, experience, views, attitudes, skills,
intentions, motivation etc.
 The four Johari window perspectives are called regions or areas or
QUADRANTS.
Spritial motivation

1. OPEN AND FREE AREA 2. BLIND AREA

3. HIDDEN AREA 4. UNKNOWN AREA

Spritual mostivation
 Quadrant 1. Open en free area also known as the area of free activity.
 It is the information about the person known by the person and known
by the group
 The aim in any group should always be todevelop the “ open area “ for
every person
Spiritual Motivation
 Quadrant 2 “ blind self” or blind area” or “ blind spot”
 Is known about a person by the others in the group, but is unknown the
the person him/herself
 The aim for this area is to increase the open area and increase self-
awareness.
 The blind area is nog effectief or productive space for indivduals or
groups
Spritual movtivation
 Quadrant 3 “ hidden self” or “ hidden area” or “ “avoided self area”
or “facade”
 It is known to ourself but kept hidden from, and therefore unknown to
others
 It includes sensitivities, fears, hidden agendas, manipulative
interventions, secrets.
 Relevant feelings to the job must be moved to the open area:
disclosure
Spiritual Motivation
 The extend to which an individual discloses personal feelings and
information, and the issues which are disclosed and to whom, must
always be at the individuals own discretion.
 Care needs to be taken to avoid causing emotional upset.
 ( There is a relationship with the “ slefacstualisation” described in
Maslow’s hierarchy of Needs development and motivation model
Spritual Motivation
 Quadrant 4 It contains information, feelings, latent ablilities, aptitudes,
experiences that are unknown to the personhim/herself and unknown to
others of the group.
Spritiual Motivation
 Breathing and quality of breathing
 Exercise:
 Breath in and out 2 our 3 times ( sstretching the longs)
 Take one deep breaht and score the long capicity between 1 and 10
 Think or say: Allthoug I can fill my longs only to …. I acccept myself
completely and deeply
Spritual Motivation
 Emotional Freedom exercise
 The Setup
 The sequence
 The 9 Gamut procdure
 The sequence
Spritual Motivation
 Goal of the emotional freedom technique is to open the meridian points
so energy comes free.
 Improvement of awareness of tension in your body
 Improvement of the quality of breathing so that you will have more
energy.
Spiritual Motivation
 Formulate your affirmation with the help of a workshop participant. This
is to see if you have formulated the right affirmation. It is important that
you formulate the right information in order to let the exercise work.
 Eventhough I have this -------------I deepy and completely accept my
self.
 Say the affirmation several times to make sure it is the right afformation

( step 1)
Spritual Motivation
 The sequence:
 Find the sore spot : Go to the base of the throat. You will find a U
shaped noth at the top of your sternum ( breast bone). From the top of
that notch go down 3 inches toward your navel and over 3 inches to
your left or right. If you press in that area you will find the sorse spot.

The karate chop point is locaastaed in the middle of the fleshy part on the
outside of the hand between wrist bone and the base of the baby finger.
Spiritual motivation
 The sequence: The tapping:
 7 times on the head
 7 times on sthe inside of your eyebrow
 7 times on the outside of your eye
 7 times under your eye
 7 times under your nose
 7 times on your chin
Spiritual Motivation
 7 times on the beginning of your collar Bone
 7 times under the arm
 7 times below the niple
 7 times on the outside of your thump
 7 times on the outside of your index finger
 7 times on the outside of your Middle finger
 7 times on your baby finger.
 7 times the karate chop
Spritual Motivation
 The Gamut procedure ( rub the Gamut point while saying the main word of your
affirmation)
 1. close your eyes
 1. Open your eyes
 3. eyes hard down right while holding the head steady
 4. Eyes hard down left while holding the head steady
 5. Roll eyes in a circle as though the nose was at the center of a clock and you were trying
to see all the numbers in order

Spiritual Motivation
 6. Same as 5 only reverse the direction in shich you roll your eyes
 7. Hum or sing a few seconds
 8. Count rapidly from 1 to 5
 9. Hum a few seconds of a song again
Spiritual Motivation
 Do the breathing exercise again.
 Descide on the scale from 1 to 10 what the result is.
Spiritual Motivation
 Contra indications for the exercise:
 - Epilepsy ( don’t do sthe Gamut procedure)
 Acute medical harm, infections
 Psychiatric problems. The exercise can only be done by a person
skilled in psychatric treatment.
Spritual Motivation
 NLP is based on several presumptions
 Other tools are:

1. Meta model

2. Sensory acuity

3. Milton Model

4. System representation

5. Submodalities

-
Spritual Motivation
 There are 13 presumptions:

1. Communication is more than what you are saying.

2. No one is wrong or broken. People work perfectly to accomplish what

they are currently accomplishing

3. People already have all the sources they need.

4. Behind every behavior there is a positive intention

5. Every behavior is usefull in some context

Spritual Motivation
6. The meaning of a communication is the response you get.

7. If you are not getting the response you want, try something else.

8. There us nosuch thing as failure. There is only feedback.

9. Having choice is better than having no choice at all.

10. The element with the most flexibility gives the most result.
Spritual Motivation
 11. The map is not the teritory.
 12. If some one can do something the other one can learn it.
 13. You cannot fail to communication
Spiritual Motivation
 Representational systems:
 Visual ( images)
 Auditory ( sounds)
 Kinesthetic ( touch and internal feelings
 Gustatory ( taste)
 Olfactory ( Smells)
 Every one uses one or a combination of senses.
Spiritual Motivation
 Meta model= a set of questions to find the explicit meaning in a persons
communication.
 Questions start with: What, how, asking more specific information, who.

1. I have to/ What will happen of you not…?

2. Not able to: what is holding against …?

3. Vague question: what do you mean?

4. Vague verbe: What exactly?

Spritual Motivation
5. comparing: than what, where, how.

6. Leaving things untold: Ask for more information

7. Nominalisation: Ask questions like how…

8. All or nothing: Is there absolutely no one, nothing…?

9 Cause – result: How exactly is x caused by y?

10. Mind reading: How do you know that ….?

11. Eternal truth: Who says so, who thinks so?

Spritual Motivation
 Assignment: for 3 persons: person A and B and C ( observant)

1.A Describes an experience ( very short)

2. B forms an

3. B describes in detail the of what A has been telling. The images,

the feelings, the sounds

4. A tells if it is right. A tells B what does and does not

fits with his experience

Spiritual Motivation
5. C thinks what B might have asked. C and B talk about the questions B
might have asked to work away the differences.

Goal of the exercise: We make interpretations and conclusions very fast

and somes times we mis interpretate the information that has been told.
Spritual Motivation
 Sensory Acuity We can take one look at a person and can infer a great
deal about what they are thinking or what their thought process is at
that time.We pick up clues from the body languwage of the person we
are communicating to. S.A. Takes these observations beyond the more
obviously recognizable clues and uses the physical feed backin addition
to some ones words to gain as mcuh from communication as possible.
Spiritual Motivation
 Milton model
 It refers to a set of linguistic patterns derived by Milton Erickson
( hypnotherapist)
 The language patterns are used to help guide someone without
interfering with their experience. The suggestions are purposely made
vague so sthat the subject will have opportunities to shape it in his
mind.
Spiritual Motivation
 We make maps of our reality ( patterns) we can make changes to it in
order to obtain the life experiences we want.
Spiritual Motivation
 The circle of excellence
 Always stay in touch with your client ( rapport)
 Set up of the NLP session:
 1. the field 2. Circle of Rapport
 3. space for goals 4. actual situation
 5. Meta position 6. The white box
 7. future pace place 8. Circle of ecology
Spiritual Motivation
 Circle of excellence ( will be demonstated using the steps of NLP
 1. Start of NLP talk. What improvement do you want
 2. Choose 3 sources of support
 3. Imagene a lichtning cirlce on the floor
 4. Remember a strong memory of the source of support
 5. Load the cirlce
 6.Repeat it with the other sources of support
Spritual Motivation
 6. Anckor the combination of the sources of support
 7. Put the circle in the future
 Look at it and try if it is possible to make an icon of it. In future situations
you can use the icon as an anchor> You can take it with you. If you have
practiced it often enough you only have to think of it to feel more secure
of your self.
