 Institution Concept
Semasa is an “alternative education model"
based on the library, where all the activities of
the institution and its management, as well as
learners, sourced from the knowledge and
skills acquired from the Semasa’s library.
• Semasa is a non-profit community and
gathering place.
• Semasa is providing reading materials as a
source of learning for the community in order
to educate and empower the community, and
to support the implementation of education
and quality of life.
• Semasa also become a laboratory for Non
Formal Education and as a venue for
community service by academics and
students.
 Why is Semasa based on the Library
Concept?
• To provide new awareness, both for the
government, academics and community.
• Be a bargaining position against the basic services
that the duty of government, for example in the
fields of education, community development,
health, etc.
• To be one of the functions of governance is
regulation, which in turn would be a problem for
alternative providers of education and learning in
the community.
• To inspire and be a reference society’s change
through the education and wealth of
knowledge library.

• Semasa have 2893 book collection numbered
copies with the majority of religious and
fiction books.
• Opened for the public from 8.00 am till 8.30
pm.
• Preparation of the collection using the DDC
system or the Dewey Decimal Classification
with the aim to facilitate the search for books
and organizing the books in the group.
• The collections manage using classification,
cataloging, and inventory.
• Retrieval system by manual system
(inventory), the computer (digitizing the
collection), a list of books, bibilografi and
directly on the rack.
Character of Early Childhood Education
• The goal is to realize the quality of life of the
children of the faithful, devoted to God, noble,
healthy, intelligent, honest, responsible,
creative, confident, environmentally sound
and patriotism.
• Semasa have 47 children.
• The learning activity is in every Friday and
Saturday from 3.30 pm till 5.30 pm.
 Education Workshop
• Aims to promote self-help community-based
education, dialogue and the same perception,
add insight and knowledge.
• The activity is a lecture with guest speaker
local community leaders, and invited
experts/leaders who are competent with
public education.
• Workshop followed by a group discussion and
presentation of each group according to the
theme gatherings.
 Education Magazine
• The goal is to disseminate community-based
self-help education, foster interest in reading
and writing among administrators,
tutor/mentor teacher, learners and the
community, as one of the main sources of
income funds.
 Business Cooperatives
• This is a place to raise funds public education,
which lent to those who need their children's
education expenses, such as buying books,
shoes, pay tuition and other educational
needs, even when it gives loans to rehab
residential (home) and economic capital.
