Patofisiologi ageusia tergantung pada faktor yang menjadi penyebabnya. Orang yang
sedang menjalani kemoterapi dan radioterapi, perubahan anatomi dalam sel pengecap
dan kadang-kadang kematian sel-sel pengecap dapat terjadi karena tingkat dari perga

ntian sel yang lebih tinggi, Adanya infeksi atau peradangan di daerah terdekat dapat
