Ciri Ciri Aliran Realis
1. Mengangkat peristiwa kehidupan Manusia secara kenyataan langsung.

2. Menggambarkan kehidupan Manusia dari semua kelas dalam kenyataan situasi

dan kondisi.

3. Bertolak belaka terhadap Objek Seni yang dibesar-besarkan secara Dramatis .

4. Memiliki detail gambar yang menyerupai aslinya (natural).

5. Tidak menutupi Kehidupan Rakyat sederhana yang tidak memiliki rumah mewah
atau pakaian mahal

6. Bersifat objektif terhadap Kaum Bangsawan

Sejarah Aliran Realis

Aliran seni ini muncul sebagai respon terhadap aliran neoklasik dan romantisisme.
Romantisisme adalah sebuah gerakan seni intelektual yang mempengaruhi banyak seniman selama abad
ke-17 dan abad ke-18.
Romantisisme menekankan pada emosi, kreativitas, dan imajinasi seniman.
Seni adalah lebih dari pantulan alam. Mereka yang mengikuti tradisi seni romantik, menggunakan imajinasi
secara bebas dalam karya seni.
Keindahan alam dan mistisisme banyak digunakan sebagai tema dalam lukisan romantik.
Di sisi lain, seniman yang mengikuti gaya neoklasik banyak mengambil inspirasi dari ide-ide tentang
keberanian, pengorbanan, dan cinta negara.

Tokoh Aliran Realis
1. Gustave Courbet
Gustave Courbet adalah salah satu pencetus munculnya
aliran seni rupa Realisme di pertengahan abad ke-19. Ia
menolak gaya klasik dan dominasi Akademi Seni di Prancis.
Karyanya berfokus pada realitas fisik benda-benda yang dia
amati walaupun kenyataan itu dinilai tidak indah dan
memiliki muatan yang dianggap terlalu kontras.

2. Jean-Francois Millet
Millet berkesenian di tengah iklim politik kasta yang
tengah bergejolak di Prancis. Karyanya kurang diterima
oleh sebagian kaum atas namun mendapat apresiasi yang
baik dari masyarakat biasa dan beberapa kritikus. Millet
secara implisit merayakan ‘kebangsawan’ kelas petani
dalam karyanya yang membuatnya menjadi sorotan kaum
elitis yang kurang menyukai pergerakannya.

3. Edouard Manet
Edouard Manet adalah seorang pelukis yang berasal dari
Perancis, ia adalah salah satu seniman yang pioner melukis
kehidupan modern. Manet merupakan sosok penting
dalam transisi dari Realisme ke Impresionisme. Ia bergerak
dan melukis bersama para Impresionis namun menolak
menggunakan teknik yang serupa. Lahir di keluarga kelas
atas dengan koneksi politik yang kuat, Manet ‘menolak’
prospek masa depan yang cerah dari keluarganya dan
memilih bergelut dengan dunia seni.
