4.3.1 Menyusun teks tulis pendek dan sederhana terkait
keharusan.
 Expressing suggestion is to express a suggestion, idea/ opinion.
 We used modal verbs: Must and should
 Must lebih kuat dibandingkan dengan should
 Must biasanya adalah perintah sementara should hanya
nasihat.
 Example:
 The students must say sorry to the teaher.
 The students should say sorry to the teacher
 You really must stop smooking.
 You really should stop smooking
 He must tell the truth.

 Examples of Express suggestion in the present as follows:


 You should call the police.
 You should firstly, check to see if anyone is injured, secondly
call an ambulance if necessary.
 She should take an aspirin.
 He should go to the dentist as soon as
 He should drink a glass of tea
RECOUNT TEXT
 Defenition
Recount text is a text to tell an event or experiences hat
happen in the past time
(suatu teks yang menceritakan suatu pristiwa atau
pengalaman yang terjadi pada waktu lampau.
 Generic structure (bagian-bagian teks)

 Orientation. Berisi pendahuluan tentang:


 Pengalaman/pristiwa yang terjadi
 Tempat peristiwa berlangsung
 Waktu peristiwa itu terjadi/ berlangsung
 Siapa yang terlibat dalam pristiwa tersebut (tokoh)
 Events. Urutan pristiwa itu berlangsung
 Re-orientation. Rangkuman/ kesimpulan/ ringkasan
dari keseluruhan cerita yang diceritakan
 Language features of recount (ciri-ciri kebahasaan teks
recount)
 Use simple past tense (S+ VII +O)
 Ex:
 Go went
 Study studied
 See saw
 Eat ate
 Listen listened, etc.
 Descriptive word. Secara rinci menjelaskan siapa, apa,
kapan dimana, dan bagaimana serta mengapa (5W
+1H)
c. Kata ganti atau kata benda (Pronoun)
 Ex: They.
 She/He/It.
 Etc.
d. Use conjunction. Menggunakan kata hubungan yang
menunjukan urutan pristiwa/ kejadian.
 Ex: first, then, next, after, before, etc

On Saturday night, we went to the Town Hall. It was the
last day of the year and a large crowd of people had gathered
under the Town Hall clock. It would strike twelve in twenty
minutes’ time. Fifteen minutes passed and then, at five to
twelve, the clock stopped. The big minute hand did not
move. We waited and waited, but nothing happened.
Suddenly someone shouted,”It’s two minutes past twelve! The
clock has stopped!”
I looked at my watch. It was true. The big clock refused
to welcome the New Year. At that moment, everybodybegan
to laugh and sing.

A Trip to the Zoo

Yesterday my family and I went to the zoo to see the


elephant. When we got to the zoo, we went to the shop to buy
some food to give to the animals.
After getting the food, we went to the nocturnal house where
we saw birds and reptiles which only come out at night.
Before having lunch, we went for a ride on the elephant. It
was a thrill to ride it. Dad fell off when he let go off the rope,
but he was ok.
During the lunch we fed some birds in the park. In the
afternoon we saw the animals being fed. When we returned
home we were very tired but happy. It was because we had so
much fun activities at many places at the zoo.
