    continuum ?
    • The sport development continuums have

    • Sports development also helps benefit
    different areas, people and sport
    The Developing continuum
    Foundation
    • The foundation programmes are aimed at
    primary school children.
    • Foundation schemes provide basic skills
    • An example of a foundation scheme is the
    dragons sport programme.
    Participation
    • Participation is used with many different
    schemes .
    • The main aim is to get people to take part
    in more activities
    • An example of participation is the 5x60
    scheme.
    Performance
    • Performance works on improvement
    through regular practice and improving
    skills.
    • An example of a performance scheme is
    Swansea school boys.
    Excellence
    • Excellence is at national or international
    level.
    • It involves preparation for competition at a
    professional level around the World.
    • An example of excellence programmes
    are Glamorgan and England Cricket.

    • The advantage of the overall developing continuum is

    help them achieve in their chosen sports.

    due to limited funding by local councils.
