 LIKING
Menyukai atau memiliki keinginan untuk berhubungan dengan orang
lain di sebut sebagai interpersonal attraction.
Menyukai atau memiliki keinginan untuk berhubungan dapat
dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, yaitu:
1. Physical Attaractiveness
Ketika orang berfikir tentang apa yang menarik terhadap orang lain bisa
dilihat dari daya tarik fisik seseorang.
2. Proximity
Orang-orang yang lebih dekat secara fisik, seperti di gedung kantor yang
sama atau tinggal di asrama yang sama, semakin besar kemungkinan
mereka membentuk suatu hubungan.
3. Similarity
Semakin banyak orang menemukan kesamaan dengan orang lain seperti
sikap, kepercayaan, dan minat, semakin mereka cenderung tertarik satu
sama lain (Hartfield & Rapson, 1992; Moreland & Zajonc, 1982; Neimeyer
& Mitchell, 1998).
4. Complementary Qualities
Beberapa orang menemukan bahwa membentuk hubungan dengan orang
lain yang mempunyai “ Complementary Qualities " (sifat dimana seseorang
melengkapi kebutuhan yang lainnya) bisa sangat dihargai.
5. Reciprocity of Liking
Reciprocity of liking adalah ketika seseorang memiliki kecenderungan
yang sangat kuat untuk menyukai orang yang menyukai mereka.
 LOVING
Cinta adalah kasih sayang yang kuat untuk orang lain karena
kekerabatan,ikatan pribadi, ketertarikan seksual, kekaguman, atau
kepentingan bersama. Para psikolog umumnya setuju bahwa ada berbagai
jenis cinta.
Tiga komponen cinta Menurut Sternberg

mengacu pada perasaan kedekatan yang dimiliki

Intimacy seseorang untuk orang lain atau perasaan memiliki
ikatan emosional yang erat dengan orang lain.
Keintiman dalam hal ini bukan fisik tetapi
psikologis.
Passion Gairah adalah aspek fisik dari cinta. Gairah mengacu
pada emosi dan seksual seseorang terhadap orang
lain.

Berdasar kombinasi 3 komponen tersebut, Stenberg (dalam Duffy &
Atwater, 2005) mengungkap ada 7 tipe cinta:

 RSCE(Relationship-Contingent-Self-Esteem),Kondisi Psikologis Akibat

Ketergantungan Pada Pasangan.
 Relationship-contingent-self-esteem (RCSE) adalah kondisi di mana
seseorang baru akan merasa dihargai atau percaya diri jika diberikan
pujian serta reaksi positif dari pasangan yang dicintainya. Hal ini tentu
saja sangat berbahaya bagi kesehatan mental jika RCSE yang dialami
seseorang terlalu tinggi.
 RCSE bisa menyebabkan seseorang mengalami depresi berat ,tertekan,
cemas yang berlebihan yang tentu saja tidak baik bagi kesehatan mental.
 peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa orang yang terlalu mencurahkan semua
emosi, perasaan, serta rasa cintanya pada hubungan yang sedang
dijalani cenderung mengalami RCSE
 Seseorang yang mengalami RCSE sangat tergantung pada pasangannya,
sehingga harga diri atau penghargaan untuk dirinya sendiri diperoleh
dari perilaku pasangan terhadap dirinya.
 RSCE dapat membuat seseorang menjadi obsesif terhadap
hubungannya. Sehingga orang yang memiliki sifat ini akan sangat
memperhatikan tindakan, perkataan, serta menganalisis semua gerak-
gerik pasangannya secara obsesif, dan memaknainya lebih dalam
