 Bentuk apendik dan badan lebar
dan pipih berfungsi sebagai
insang, menyaring makanan atau
sebagai alat renang sehingga
dinamakan branchiopoda
 Branchiopoda memakan
ganggang, bakteri, protozoa,
rotifera dan serpihan detritus.

 Branchiopoda berbeda dengan crustacean lain karena tidak mempunyai cephalotorax, artinya tidak
ada ruas badan yang tumbuh menyatu dengan kepala
 Mereka umumnya memiliki mata majemuk dan karapaks, yang mungkin berupa cangkang dua
katup yang menutupi belalai (seperti pada sebagian besar Cladocera), lebar dan dangkal (seperti
pada Notostraca), atau sama sekali tidak ada (seperti dalam Anostraca).
 Pada kelompok di mana karapas mencegah penggunaan batang tubuh untuk berenang (Cladocera,
udang kerang dan Lipostraca yang sudah punah), antena digunakan untuk penggerak, seperti di
nauplius. Udang peri jantan memiliki sepasang antena yang diperbesar yang mereka gunakan
untuk memegang betina saat kawin, sedangkan Notostraca sebagai alat makan bagian bawah,
antena direduksi menjadi sisa - sisa.
 Anggota tubuh dikenai ritme metachronal, menyebabkan aliran air di sepanjang garis tengah
hewan, dari mana ia memperoleh oksigen makanan, dan dalam kasus pergerakan Anostraca dan
Notostraca.

pemeliharaan ikan tropis dan laut.
 03 Ordo Notostraca
● Ordo Notoscrata terdiri dari satu famili yaitu Tripsidae
dengan dua genera yaitu Triops dan Lepidurus.
● pada tahun 1950-an sebanyak 70 spesies telah dikenali.
● Ordo Notostraca mempunyai karapas lebar seperti tameng
yang menutupi seluruh tubuh, disebut juga tadpole shrimps.
Mempunyai 35-71 pasang kaki; mata majemuk sessile;
jumlah ruas badan dan kaki dalam satu spesies tidak tetap;
antena ke dua kecil; pada pasang kaki 1 atau ke 2 terdapat
helai rami sebagai alat peraba, Kaki ke sebelas pada betina
mengalami modifikasi menjadi semacam kantung untuk
mengerami telur.

o Tergolong omnivora, memakan hewan kecil seperti ikan
dan udang pari
o Hidup di lingkungan perairan air tawar, air payau, kolam
garam, danau dangkal, rawa gambut, dan tegalan di
seluruh dunia
o Berenang dengan lemah gemulai dan anggun, lambat dan
cepat, atau beristirahat di dasar perairan

• Reproduksi
Bereproduksi secara seksual, beberapa pembuahan
sendiri pada betina, dan campuran keduanya

• Reproduksi pada beberapa spesies Spinicaudata dapat bersifat partenogenik, tetapi
sebagian besar bersifat biseksual.

• Pada jantan, dua tulang daun pertama telah diubah menjadi organ penggenggam yang
dengannya mereka dapat memegangi betina untuk kopulasi.

• Betina menempelkan telur dalam bola telur besar ke 9 hingga 12 pasang kaki dan
melepaskannya selama pergantian bulu berikutnya.

• Di Cyclestheira hislopi, telur dibawa dalam cangkang sampai menetas di tubuh induk.

• Telur tahan kekeringan dan dapat bertahan untuk beberapa waktu di tanah kering.

• Larva Nauplius menetas dari telur dan mempertahankan ciri-ciri dewasa melalui
beberapa mabung.
07 Ordo Cladocera
 Cladocerans adalah hewan kecil yang sering
berbentuk seperti cakram datar. Sebagian besar
ukurannya berkisar antara 0,008 hingga 0,1 inci
(0,2-3 mm).
 Tubuh mereka tidak tersegmentasi secara jelas
seperti krustasea lainnya; namun, tiga bagian dapat
dibedakan, yaitu kepala, dada, dan perut. Kepala
biasanya berbentuk kubah dengan mata majemuk
besar dan lima pasang pelengkap. Di antara
pelengkap terdapat dua pasang antenna, sepasang
kecil yang berfungsi sebagai sensorik dan sepasang
yang lebih besar untuk berenang. Tiga pasang
pelengkap lainnya berfungsi mengamankan
makanan.

 Distribusi :
Clodocera terdistribusi di seluruh dunia.
 Habitat :
Kebanyakan cladocerans terbatas pada habitat air tawar, meskipun delapan spesies ditemukan di perairan
laut. Cladocer-ans berlimpah di danau, kolam, sungai yang bergerak lambat, dan sungai. Mereka ditemukan
dari Kutub Utara hingga Samudra Selatan, dari permukaan laut hingga kolam alpine. Beberapa cladocerans
bentik (ditemukan di dasar danau, laut, atau samudra); spesies lain hidup di atas sedimen atau tumbuh-
tumbuhan hampir di mana pun terdapat air, termasuk rawa, genangan air, parit, dan air tanah. Satu spesies
bahkan hidup di air yang terperangkap oleh lumut yang hidup di pohon di hutan awan Puerto Rico.
