Alat orthodonti lepasan
 Ortho lepasan mengambil peran yang cukup besar dalam perawatan ortodontik.

 Ortho lepasan ini merupakan inovasi dari George Crozat, di awal 1900-an.

 Kemudian berkembang lebih di negara Eropa, tetapi memiliki peran yang lebih sedikit
dalam arus utama orthodonsi Amerika Serikat.

 Eropa memelopori “Alat fungsional" penerapan alat ortho lepasan untuk modifikasi
pertumbuhan yang pada umumnya peralatan ini akan mengatasi masalah gigi ringan
hingga sedang.

“ Kunci keberhasilan perawatan adalah kepatuhan pasien terhadap
penggunaan alat lepasan.

 Salah satu faktor terpenting untuk menggunakan alat lepasan adalah
retensi.

 Sejumlah clasp direkomendasikan untuk retensi pada alat lepasan.

 Diantaranya adalah:

 Masing-masing clasp ini dapat memberikan tingkat retensi mekanis
yang berbeda-beda.

 Namun, ada beberapa indikasi yang jelas dengan peng-aplikasi-an

"Ball clasp" dan "Wraparound clasp".

 "Ball clasp“ harus ada dua gigi yang berkontak

 “Wraparound clasp” sebagian besar cocok untuk retainer.

Ada 8 alasan yang membuktikan keunggulan dari "C clasp" dibandingkan
dengan “Adams clasp” yaitu sebagai berikut:

1. Kontak gigi yang luas
Adams memiliki kontak dua titik, "C clasp" membuat kontak
garis dengan gigi.

2. Undercut rest yang lebih baik
“C clasp” terletak sepenuhnya di bawah ketinggian kontur gigi tapi
Adams tidak. Bahkan, teknisi lab harus melepas sebagian plaster saat
membuat Adams agar hasil Adams yang lebih baik.

3. Tidak mengiritasi gingiva
“C clasp” sangat lembut. Sedangkan untuk Adams clasp, merapikan
plaster untuk penempatan clasp Adams berarti memberikan tekanan
pada papilla gingiva dan dapat menyebabkan ketidaknyamanan bagi
pasien.

Kunci keberhasilan perawatan adalah
kepatuhan pasien terhadap penggunaan
alat lepasan.
Salah satu faktor terpenting untuk menggunakan alat/ortho
lepasan adalah retensi.
