1. Menurut Harsey dan Blanchard

Bahwa gaya kepemimpinan situasional didasarkan atas hubungan, kadar bimbingan dan arahan (prilaku
tugas) yang diberikan oleh pemimpinan, tingkat dukungan emosional (prilaku hubungan) yang disediakan
pemimpin, tingkat kesiapan yang diperlihatkan dalam melaksanakan tugas khusus, fungsi atau tujuan
tertentu.

2. Menurut Paul Hersey dan Kennth Blonchard, (1996)

Suatu kemampuan dan kemauan dari orang-orang untuk bertanggung jawab dalam mengarahkan

1. Melakukan pelatihan 

Ciri pertama gaya kepemimpinan situasional adalah selalu menyempatkan waktu untuk melakukan

pembinaan terhadap tim demi mendorong anggota lebih berkembang dan mandiri dalam pekerjaan. 

2. Fleksibilitas

Fleksibilitas juga merupakan ciri utama dari kepemimpinan situasional. Sebab, kamu dituntut untuk lebih
bisa menyesuaikan diri dengan keadaan tim bukan sebaliknya.

3. Kejujuran 

Gaya kepemimpinan situasional juga dapat ditunjukkan dengan selalu jujur dalam melihat realitas kondisi
yang ada dan berani untuk mengakuinya.

4. Mampu mendelegasikan tugas

Pemimpin dengan gaya kepemimpinan situasional harus mampu mendelegasikan tugas kepada
bawahannya. Dengan begitu pemimpin tersebut mengizinkan timnya untuk berkembang.

1. Kesuksesan pendekatan cara memimpin seperti ini bergantung pada

situasional terus mengubah pendekatan agar sesuai dengan
kebutuhan tim.

» Tingkat kematangan rendah ke tingkat kematangan madya (R2),

dengan ciri: tidak mampu tetapi mau atau yakin. Gaya kepemimpinan
yang sesuai digunakan adalah konsultasi atau S2

» Tingkat kematangan madya ke tingkat kematangan tinggi (R3),

dengan ciri: mampu tetapi tidak mau atau tidak mantap. gaya
kepemimpinan yang tepat digunakan adalah partisipasi atau S3.

» Tingkat kematangan tinggi (R4), dengan ciri: mampu/cakap dan

mau/yakin. Delegasi atau S4 menjadi gaya kepemimpinan yang cocok
untuk mempengaruhi perilaku yang tingkat kematangannya tinggi.
