 FUNGSI DAN PERANAN TARI
1. Sebagai Sarana upacara
Tari dapat digunakan sebagai sarana upacara.Jenis tari banyak macamnya, seperti untuk
upacara keagamaan dan upacara penting Dalam kehidupan manusia.
2. Sebagai Hiburan
Jenis ini menggunakan tema yang sederhana tidak muluk-muluk,Diiringi lagu yang enak dan
mengasyikkan.kostum dari tata panggungnya dipersiapkan secara menarik.
3. Sebagai Penyaluran Terapi
Tari ini biasanya Ditunjukan untuk penyandang cacat fisik atau cacat mental.Penyalurannya
dapat dilakukan secara langsung bagi penderita cacat tubuh atau Bafi penderita tunawicara
dan tuna rungu dan secara tidak langsung bagi penderita cacat mental.
4. Sebagai media pendidikan
Kegiatan tari dapat dijadikan media pendidikan,seperti untuk mendidik anak bersikap
dewasa dan menghindari perilaku yang menyimpang.
5. Sebagai Pertunjukan
Tari yang di pentaskan lebih menitikberatkan pada segi
artistiknya,penggarapan koreografi yang mantap,mengandung Ide-
ide,interpretasi, Konsepsional,dan memiliki tema
serta tujuan.
Jenis tari ini biasanya sengaja
di buat untuk pertunjukan,
tari upacara atau tari hiburan.

6. Sebagai katarsis
katarsis berarti pembersihan jiwa.seni tari ini
lebih mudah di lakukan oleh orang yang telah
mencapai taraf atas dalam penghayatan seni
Oleh karena itu.biasanya jenis ini dilakukan oleh
seniman yang hakiki
