Adalah kalimat yang bernilai benar atau salah
Contoh : 6 + 3 = 9
 Bandung adalah ibu kota Indonesia
 5 merupakan bil genap
 2 adalah bil prima terkecil
Adalah kalimat yg belum diketahui nilai
kebenarannya (benar atau salah).
Contoh : 2x – 3 = 7
 Jika x nya diganti 5  benar
 Jika x nya diganti -3  salah
 Variabel adalah lambang / huruf yg dpt diganti
oleh sembarang anggota
 Konstanta adalah BILANGAN TETAP
(pengganti dari suatu variabel)
Contoh : 2x – 3 = 7
 Variabel = x
 Konstanta = -3 dan 7

Himpunan penyelesaian adalah kumpulan dari penyelesaian suatu persamaan dan Hp dari PLSV ada 2
kemungkinan yaitu satu buah nilai atau tidak ada / himp kosong { }
Contoh : Tentukan himpunan penyelesaian dari :
1. 3y – 6 = 2y + 4 dengan y anggota bil asli
1. n + 5 = 1 dengan n anggota bil cacah

cerita
❑ Jumlah tiga bilangan ganjil berurutan 117. Contoh 2.
tentukan ketiga bilangan tersebut. Panjang suatu persegi panjang 5 cm lebihnya
❑ Jawab. Misal bilangan I = x dari lebarnya. Bila kelilingnya 38 cm, tentukan
panjang, lebar dan luas persegi panjang.
II = x + 2
Jawab.
III = x + 4 Misal : lebarnya = l
X + x + 2 + x + 4 = 117 panjang = l + 5
3x + 6 = 117 ½ kel = p + l
19 = l + 5 + l
3x = 111 2 l = 14
X = 37. Jadi bilangan tersebut adalah 37 ; 39 dan Lebar = 7 cm; panjang = 12 cm. Luas = 84 cm

Persamaan Ekuivalen adalah persamaan yang mempunyai Hp yg sama apabila
pada persamaan itu dikenakan operasi tertentu

Persamaan dapat diselesaikan dengan cara kedua ruas ditambah, dikurang, dikali atau dibagi
dengan bilangan yang sama utk memperoleh persamaan yang ekuivalen.
