ab akibat. Yaitu, jenis kalimat majemuk yang
memiliki sebab dan dapat menimbulkan akiba
t. Cause berarti sesuatu yang terjadi, sedang
kan effect merupakan konsekuensi atau akiba
t dari kejadian tersebut.

Biasanya, kalimat ini bercirikan kata atau frasa pena

nda yang disebut konektor. Karena sering digunaka
n bersamaan dengan kalimat degree of comparison

Cause and effect terbagi menjadi dua, yaitu

yang diikuti oleh noun, verb atau klausa.
Untuk bisa menguasai, kamu perlu
membandingkan dulu antara kalimat cause
dan juga effect.
 Cause and effect + Noun RUMUS Due to the storm we cannot go to the beach.
Rumus 1: Connector + Cause, + Effec
tKonektor: due to, owing to, because (connector) + (cause) +(effect)
of, as a result of, as a consequence of

Contoh:

Owing to her kindness, Mia gave her a gift.

(Karena kebaikannya, Mia memberinya hadiah.)
Because of this cooking book, I am able to cook
my own meal. (Karena buku masak ini, aku jadi
bisa memasak makananku sendiri.)
RUMUS 2
I got sick due to the cold weather.

(effect) + (connector) + (cause)


Contoh lainnya:
The car was broken as a result of her recklessness.
(Mobilnya rusak akibat kesembronoannya.)
Alvin got a warning as a consequence of his lazine
ss. (Alvin dapat peringatan akibat kemalasannya.)
She was late because of her bad sleeping habit.(Di
a terlambat karena jadwal tidurnya yang buruk.)
Cause and effect + Verb or Clause
Konektor: because, since, for, hence, thus, therefore, thereby,
consequently, as a result
Contoh:
Because her brother lives in Jakarta, she must
visit him every month. (Karena kakak laki-
lakinya tinggal di Jakarta, dia harus
mengunjunginya setiap bulan.)
This bag is expensive since the famous brand
Chanel made it. (Tas ini sungguh mahal karena
brand terkenal bernama Chanel yang
membuatnya.)
My arms are hurt. Hence, i cannot swim today.
(Lenganku sakit. Sehingga, aku tak dapat
berenang hari ini.)
As our teacher has suggested to stay at home,
she gives us a pile of homework. (Karena guru
kami telah menyarankan untuk tetap di rumah,
dia memberikan kami PR.)
