2. Pemikiran Hisab Muhammadiyah Di Indonesia ilmu hisab juga 02

berkembang pesat. Dalam Ensiklopedi Islam Indonesia dinyatakan
bahwa ulama yang pertama terkenal sebagai bapak hisab Indonesia 03
adalah Syeh Taher Jalaluddin al-Azhari. Namun, sebenarnya selain
Syeh Taher Jalaluddin pada masa itu juga ada tokoh-tokoh hisab 04
yang sangat berpengaruh, seperti Syeh Ahmad Khatib Minangkabau,
Syeh Muhammad Arsyad al-Banjari, Ahmad Rifa'i, dan K.H. Sholeh 05
Darat. Selanjutnya perkembangan ilmu hisab di Indonesia di pelopori
oleh K.H.Ahmad Dahlan dan Jamil Djambek (1330-1398 H/ 1911- 06
1977 M). Diantara murid Saado'eddin yang menjadi tokoh hisab
adalah H. Abdur Rachim. Beliau adalah ketua Bagian Hisab dan
Pengembangan Tafsir Majelis Tarjih dan Pengembangan Pemikiran
Islam Pimpinan Pusat Muhammadiyah

Konsep Penetapan Awal Bulan Sebagaimana dikatakan oleh Majelis Tarjih Muhammadiyah (Tarjih, 2003) dalam
penentuan awal bulan Qamariyah, ḥisab mempunyai fungsi dan kedudukan yang sama dengan rukyah sebagai pedoman
penetapan awal bulan Ramadhan, Syawal dan Dzulhijjah, Oleh karena itu penggunaan ḥisab dalam penentuan awal
bulan Qamariyah adalah sah dan sesuai dengan Sunnah Nabi SAW. Cara memahaminya (wajhul istidlal-nya) adalah
bahwa pada surat alRahman ayat 514 dan surat Yunus ayat 515 , Allah SWT menegaskan bahwa benda-benda langit
berupa matahari dan Bulan beredar dalam orbitnya dengan hukum-hukum yang pasti sesuai dengan ketentuan-Nya.
Oleh karena itu peredaran benda-benda langit tersebut dapat dihitung (diḥisab) secara tepat. Penegasan kedua ayat ini
tidak sekedar pernyataan informatif belaka, karena dapat dihitung dan diprediksinya peredaran benda-benda langit itu,
khususnya Matahari dan Bulan, bisa diketahui manusia .
Selain alasan syar’i sebagaimana tersebut dalam penjelasan dalam dasar
hukum penetapan ḥisab di atas, masih ada sejumlah alasan ilmiah dan praktis
kenapa Muhammadiyah menggunakan metode ḥisab dalam menetapkan awal
bulan Qamariyah. Pertama, pengamalan rukyat mengakibatkan tidak bisa
membuat sistem penanggalan. Alasannya sederhana, yakni awal bulan baru, baru
bisa diketahui pada H -1 dan tidak bisa diketahui jauh hari sebelumnya. Hal ini akan menimbulkan beberapa masalah
civil dan agama , misalnya umuat muslim dibeberapa negara tidak dapat mengajukan cuti untuk merakayan hari-hari
besar Islam dikarenakan ketidakpasitan kapan tepatnya tanggal tersebut jatuh .
Kedua, rukyat tidak dapat menyatukan tanggal dan karenanya tidak dapat menyatukan momen-momen keagamaan umat
Islam di seluruh dunia dalam hari yang sama. Sebaliknya rukyat memaksa umat Islam untuk berbeda hari selebrasi
momen keagamaan mereka. Hal itu karena pada hari terjadinya rukyat awal bulan baru, rukyat itu terbatas
jangkauannya dan tidak meliputi seluruh permukaan bumi. Akibatnya ada bagian muka bumi yang sudah berhasil
Mula pertama hisab yang digunakan Muhammadiyah adalah hisab Hakiki dengan kriteria imkan rukyat. Selanjutnya
Muhammadiyah menggunakan hisab Hakiki dengan criteria ijtima' qobla al-ghurub. Artinya bila ijtima‟ terjadi
sebelum ghurub (sunset) maka malam itu dan keesokan harinya dianggap tanggal satu bulan baru hijriyah.
Setelah bertahun-tahun kemudian Muhammadiyah teori menggunakan wujudul hilal, setelah melakukan

kajian ulang ar teori yang digunakan sesuai dengan al-Qur'an, as-Sunnah dan tuntutan zaman. Hisab Hakiki Wujudul
Hilal adalah kriteria penentuan awal bulan (kalender) Hijriyah dengan menggunakan prinsip: Ijtimak
(konjungsi) telah terjadi sebelum Matahari terbenam (ijtima‟ qablal ghurub), saat matahari terbenam bulan
sudah berada di garis ufuk dengan tanpa melihat derajat ketinggiannya (irtifa‟), dan Bulan terbenam setelah
Matahari terbenam (moonset after sunset); maka pada petang hari tersebut dinyatakan sebagai awal bulan
(kalender) Hijriyah. Dengan wujudul hilal maka menentukan awal bulan lebih dapat memberikan kepastian serta
praktis. Dalam al-Qur‟an surat ar- Rahman ayat 5 dan surat yunus ayat 185 terdapat isyarat mengenai tiga hal
penting, yaitu (1) peristiwa ijtimak, (2) peristiwa pergantian siang ke malam (terbenamnya matahari), dan dari
balik pergantian siang ke malam itu terkait (3) ufuk, karena terbenamnya matahari artinya berada di bawah ufuk.
Dan pada al-Qur‟an surat Yasin ayat 40 menegaskan bahwa matahari tidak mungkin mendahului bulan dan ini
yang dijadikan landasan teori wujudul hilal. Dasar yang kedua adalah hadits yang mennegask
mennegaskan bahwa „illat rukyat hilal adalah karena kondisi ummi, maka ketika kondisinya umat sudah cerdas maka
„illat itu hilang sehingga rukyatul hilal bukan satu-satunya metode dalam penentuan awal bulan qamariyah, dan
Muhammadiyah memakai wujudul hilal sebagai penentuan awal bulan qamariyah sebagai jalan tengah antara
ijtima‟ qablal ghurub dan Imkanu rukyat. Namun demikian wujudul hilal masih menyisakan persoalan karena
dengan wujudul hilal seolah-olah ilmu hisab sekarang ini sudah final, karena wujudul hilal hanya ada dalam
tataran teoritis saja dan tidak didukung data empiris. Dari sisi dalil wujudul hilal tidak didukung dalil qath‟i
(tegas), selain interpretasi yang janggal secara astronomi. Dari segi syar‟i, tafsir yang merujuk pada QS Yasin
39- 40 terkesan dipaksakan. Dari segi astronomi, kriteria wujudul hilal adalah kriteria usang yang sudah lama
ditinggalkan di kalangan ahli falak sebagaimana yang dikemukakan oleh Thomas Jamaludin. beberapa hadits
Rasul tentang rukyat dan hisab disebutkan dengan jelas yang artinya keduanya sama kedudukannya, dan bukan
yang satu membatalkan yang lainnya. Jika memang hadits-hadits Penentuan Awal Bulan Qomariah…

ditempuh adalah al-jam‟u wa al-taufiq yakni mengkompromikannya terlebih dahulu, bukan memakai yang satu
mengabaikan yang lainnya.
