E.Pendekatan pembelajaran Berbuat

Pendekatan pembelajaran berbuat menekankan pada usaha memberi kesempatan kepada

siswa melakukan perbuatan-perbuatan moral,baik secara perorangan maupun bersama –
sama dalam suatu kelompok .menurut beberapa ahli sebagai berikut.
Spearke (1976),menyimpulkan ada dua tujuan utama pendidikan moral berdasarkan
kepada pendekatan ini.
 Memberi kesempatan kepada siswa untuk melakukan perbuatan moral,baik secara
perorangan maupun bersama –sama,berdasarkan nilai –nilai mereka sendiri.
 Mendorong siswa untuk melihat diri sebagai makluk individu dan makluk sosial dalam
pergaulan dengan sesama yang tidak memiliki kebebasan sepenuhnya.

Metode –metode pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam pendekatan analisis nilai dan
klarifikasi nilai digunakan juga dalam pendekatan ini.
Metode-metode lain yang digunakan juga adalah projek-projek tertentu untuk dilakukan
disekolah atau dalam masyarakat, dan praktek keterampilan dalam berorganisasi atau
berhubungan antara sesama(Superka,1976)
Menurut Elias(1989),Pendekatan pembelajaran berbuat diprakarsai oleh
Newmann,dengan memberikan perhatian mendalam pada usaha melibatkan siswa dalam
melakukan perubahan-perubahan sosial.
Pendekatan ini berusaha meningkakan keterampilan ”Moral reasoning” dan dimensi
afektif,namun tujuan yang paling penting adalah memberikan pengajaran kepada siswa
supaya mereka berkemampuan untuk mempengaruhi kebijakan umum sebagai warga
dalam suatu masyarakat yang demokratis.Penganjur pendekatan ini memandang bahwa
kelemahan dari berbagai pendekatan lain adalah menghasilkan warga negara yang pasif.

Melalui program-program pendidikan moral sepatutnya menghasilkan warga negara yang

aktif yaitu warga negara memiliki kompetensi yang diperlukan dalam lingkungan hidupnya
(Environmental competence),yaitu:
1. Kompetensi fisik (physical comptence),yang dapat memberikan nilai tertentu terhadap
suatu objek,misalnya melukis sesuatu,membangun rumah.
2.kompetensi hubungan antar pribadi (interpersonal competence) yang dapat memberikan
memberikan pengaruh kepada orang –orang melalui hubungan antara sesama.misalnya saling
memperhatikan ,persahabatan ,hubungan ekonomi.
3.kompetensi kewarganegaraan (civic competence),yang dapat memberi pengaruh kepada
urusan-urusan masyarakat umum,misalnya proses pemilihan umum dengan memberi bantuan
kepada seorang calon atau partai peserta untuk memperoleh kemenangan,atau melalui
kelompok peminat tertentu,mampu mempengaruhi perubahan kebijakan umum.
Dalam praktiknya ,berbagai metode pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam
pendekatan –pendekatan lain digunakan juga dalam pembelajaran
-pembelajaran pendidikan karakter .implementasinya sebagai berikut.
1) Metode yang digunakan dalam pendekatan perkembangan moral kognitif
.misalnya mengangkat dan mendiskusikan kasus dan masalah moral dalam
kelas,pengguna metode ini juga akan dapat menghidupkan suasana kelas.
2) Metode pengajaran yang digunakan pendekatan analisis nilai ,khususnya
prosedur analisis nilai dan penyelesaian masalah yang ditawarkan ,bermanfaat
juga untuk diaplikasikan sebagai salah satu strategi dalam proses pembelajaran
pendidikan karakter.
3) Metode pengajaran yang digunakan pendekatan klarifikasi nilai yang
memperhatikan faktor keadaan serta bahan pelajaran yang relevan ,dapat di
aplikasikan dalam pembelajaran pendidikan karakter.
4) Metode pengajaran yang digunakan dalam pendekatan pembelajaran berbuat
bermanfaat juga untuk diaplikasikan dalam pembelajaran pendidikan karakter
para siswa pada tingkat tertentu lebih tepat untuk melakukan tugas-tugas diluar
ruangan kelas yang dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi yang
berhubungan dengan lingkungan ,seperti yang dituntut oleh pendekatan ini.
