 Alcohol is referred as ‘Strong drinks’: Prov 20:1; 31:4;

31:6; Is 5:22; 28: 1; Hab 2:15; Prov. 23: 21;
 Job. 12: 25; Jer 23: 9; Acts 2:15; Heb 5: 11
 Prov.20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and
whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
 The text refers to alcohol as strong drink. God created a
perfect man full of wisdom, dignity and honor. He, God,
was to be praised for His wonderful work of creation. By
His own hands He created man, by His own nostril He gave
man the breath of life. The question is can a man under
influence of alcohol give glory to God? In the bars, streets,
even in their own homes, we see drunkards not able to
control their movements, what of thoughts? Man can never
praise the Lord with dwarfed mind.
 The Buzz about booze
Alcohol is good for heart. This medical proclamation is helping to
escalate and rocketing the consumption of booze in the name of
good medicine: One glass of red wine drives heart attack away.
Recently, the list extended to bottles of beer or a short of
whiskey. There is truth to these claim backed by scientific data.
Like any medicine, it has its intended good purpose but on the
other hand, what do we pay in terms of side effects or detrimental
results. The other side of alcohol has often been hushed compared
to glaringly attractive news of heart attack .
Prov.20:6.Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish,
and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
 Satan is subtle in his ways. He knows that alcohol is in all
circumstances is used as hapless soothing tools to all
people who do not recognize the power of the Lord.
 Prevention.
Showing the totally of the scene perhaps will help in
making a rational decision. To understand what side
effects are, an illustration will help drive the point. If
a person is badly in need of$10,000.00 due to an
emergency situation, let's examine his options for the
best solution:
 Borrow from his brother with no interest payable in
one year time;
 Borrow from his office mate at5% interest payable in
six months time;
 Borrow from his bank at 20% interest payable in six
months time
Obviously, the best choice is alternatively number
one. The other alternatives give you the loan
but with a very high price in return.
Unfortunately, by using alcohol to prevent
heart attack, we get a very small benefit while
reaping a host of unwanted pernicious
malignant and even fatal effects. It is worse
than picking alternative four of the illustration.
There are other ways with very mild unwanted
consequences. Here are some of the
consequences of alcohol use:
These side-effect dangerous results are those

you are.
 Stomach ulcers: Booze irritates the fine lining of the
stomach producing a wound (ulcer). It also stimulates
the stomach to produce more acid. Normally, the
stomach produces enough acid to digest the food
intake. With alcohol, this regulatory mechanism is lost
with the resultant excess acid causing injury.
 Addiction: Many alcoholics started with social drinking
ending with intense craving for more and harder stuff.
 Destruction of the immune system: The immune system
is likened to the soldiers in our body. When germs enter
into our system, they are destroyed. Alcohol kills these
soldier cells making one prone to infections
 HIV patients are strongly advised to refrain from using
even small quantities of any alcoholic drink.
 Poor coordination: Majority of road, factory, home and
other accidents are linked to its use. One drink can
spell the difference between life and death when
operating heavy machinery or driving a car. Alcohol
distorts perception and muscle coordination
 Gout: the breakdown of alcohol metabolism in the body
produces uric acid. Accumulation of this by-product in
the joint causes arthritis resulting in severe,
excruciating pains. Crystallization in the kidneys and
urinary bladder result in stone formation. Indeed, the
consumption of alcohol to prevent heart attacks comes

Very few people who drink believe they drink too much.
Some people think that as long as they don't become
alcoholics, its okay to drink, and continue to drink alcohol
excessively
Drinking alcohol has become socially accepted in African society. But
research is revealing more and more that moderate drinking causes a lot
of damage due to the result of Alcohol addiction.
 Luke 1:15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and
shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be
filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.
 The only response to alcohol is to abstain from using it at
all. God ‘s people can under no circumstances be
encouraged to take alcohol whether at their own home,
bars or in churches. Those who take in hidings have been
experiencing the removal of the God’s spirit and trouble
start in different ways. Family, church congregations are
affected with this in different ways:
 Prov. 23:21, For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to
poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
 Marriage are broken. Crimes unveils their hidden actions as
their true pictures are revealed. Rivaling over the church
position or properties are experienced .Daniel. 1:-20.This is a
wonderful and challenging experience of Daniel,Michael and
Hananiah for fearing the Lord of not eating meat or taking wine
which was prepared by the King and asked by the Prince of Eunuch

 Today the church is in a dilemma, we seem to forget our

spiritual advices and temperance, we are easily attracted
by the world and ultimately end up involved in taking
Alcohol.

1. ALCOHOL DAMAGES THE BRAIN
Alcohol-related brain damage begins with the first
drink and increases with the amount and length of
time a person drinks.

2. ALCOHOL IMPAIRS MENTAL PHYSICAL

FUNCTION
Even the lowest levels of alcohol in the blood affect
perception, thinking, learning, judgments, reaction
time, and vision. The most serious effect is that it
reduces the individual's awareness of being impaired.
3. ALCOHOL DECREASES SEXUAL FUNCTION
While modest doses of alcohol increases sexual drive in
men, it decreases sexual capacity. In women, alcohol
increases infertility and chances of abortion.

4. ALCOHOL CONTRIBUTES TO OVERWEIGHT

calories. Excess calories contribute to overweight,
leading to obesity, Hypertension (High blood pressure),

serious diseases. Because alcohol weakens the immune
system, it may be a factor in the development of AIDS.
7. ALCOHOL CAUSES CIRRHOSIS OF THE LIVER
Heavy drinking is a major factor in the development of
cirrhosis of the liver. As few as three drinks a day for
men and one for women increases the risk of
developing cirrhosis of the liver.
8. ALCOHOL USE INCREASES CANCER RISK
Cancer of the mouth, throat, stomach, large bowel,
pancreas, thyroid and liver are more prevalent in
those who drink alcohol.

Doctors to cure diseases use many drugs. Used properly
in this way they can be very useful. Some drugs can
change the way you feel and some people use these
drugs because they like these feelings. This can be very
harmful and using these drugs can be very dangerous.
You can hear many stories about drugs and not all of

 WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY ABOUT DRUGS?
Some drugs (for examples, banghi mirungi, heroin, cocaine and mandrax) are
illegal. This means that it is against the law to cultivate, produce,
transport, possess, carry, use buy, or sell these drugs. If you caught, you
can be sent to prison. Others (for example alcohol and tobacco) are legal.
Even though they can still be harmful!

strong drink are out of the way; the priests and the prophets have
erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they
are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they
stumble in judgment.
 It is very clear, that anyone who uses the alcohol did not do God
work and directed by holly spirit. This is an error just caused by
the removal of holy spirit who should be our guide in all matters
as Jesus promised before He ascended to Heaven.

 Heaven is there ,for us if we pray fully abstain from any thing that
can take us far from the love of our Lord. Despising the Holy Spirit
is the greatest sin. Without it, no man can discern the heaven
acceptable behaviors.
 WHY ARE DRUGS HARMFUL?
Most of these drugs affect your brain in some way. For this
reason it can very dangerous to operate a machine or
drive a car when you have been using drugs. All drugs
have some effect on your body, which lasts for a short
time, perhaps a few hours. Some have effects, which
last a long and can badly damage your health. Many
drugs can also cause you to become addicted or
dependent. Using drugs can also have other bad effects
on your life. For example, many people who use drugs
find it difficult to keep a job; they may have problems
with their families and some start to commit crimes
such as theft and robbery to get money to pay for
drugs. Finally, with some drugs it is possible to take too
much at one time. This is called an overdose and can
sometimes cause death.
 WHAT DOES BEING ADDICTED MEAN?

Some drugs can make you addicted. This means that

either your body or mind is so used to the drug that it
cannot do with without it. If someone who is addicted
to a drug stops taking the drug he or she will feel ill.
This can last for quite a long time. Being addicted
sometimes leads people to do bad things such as
stealing so that they can buy drugs. Being addicted is
not nice. The best way to avoid it is AVOID DRUGS
 Jeremiah, 23:9. Mine heart within me is broken
because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I
am like a drunken man, and like a man whom
wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and
because of the words of his holiness.
 ARE ALL DRUGS THE SAME?

NO, there are several different kinds of drugs, and they

work in different ways. Here is some information about
some drugs:-
BANGHI
This is also called as cannabis, ganja, charas, or hashish.
It is the leaves and seeds of a plant, which are rolled up
and smoked, like cigarette. Banghi is illegal world wide.
Banghi affects your brain and makes you feel different
and see things differently. Sometimes this can be quite
nice but other times it can be very frightening and feel
bad. People who use it a lot sometimes appear to be
drunk all the time and find it difficult to do even simple
things. It is said that banghi sometimes makes people
mentally ill.
 STIMULANTS
Stimulants include mirungi (also called miraa or khat),
cocaine and amphetamines. Mirungi is the shoot of a
plant, which is chewed. Cocaine is a white powder,
which is sometimes sniffed through the nose,
sometimes injected with the needle, which is very
dangerous, and sometimes smoked (crack).
Amphetamines usually come as tablets or as a white
powder. All these drugs are illegal all over the world.
These drugs also affect your brain. They make you feel
more alert and prevent you from feeling tired and keep
you awake. These effects last several hours. However,
later you feel very tired and ill. People who use these
drugs sometimes find they do not want to eat and loose
weight as a result. People who use them a lot can
become mentally ill. Although they are all harmful,
cocaine is a particularly dangerous drug, which can
easily make you addicted.
 HEROIN

Heroin is made from a particular kind of plant. Sometimes

it comes as a white powder and is often mixed with
other things such as flour, sugar or bleach powder
before it is sold. Sometimes it comes as a brown
substance like sugar (it is often called 'brown sugar'). It
can be smoked, swallowed or injected. Injecting drugs
are very dangerous. Heroin is illegal in Tanzania. Heroin
make people feel good at meantime. However, it is
quite easy to get addicted to it. This means that your
body need regular doses of heroin or else you feel ill.
People who use heroin a lot often become ill and it can
also lead to social problems such as inability to keep a
job or arguments with your family. It is possible to take
an overdose of heroin, which can lead to death,
especially if heroin is used at the same time with
alcohol.
 MANDRAX

Mandrax usually comes in the form of tablets. It is illegal

World wide, but its use is becoming more common.
Mandrax is a very dangerous drug. It affects the brain
and makes you more relaxed and less worried. People
who use it a lot often forget things very easily and
become confused. It is very easy to get addicted. It is
easy to take an overdose.
 WHY IS INJECTING DRUGS
DANGEROUS?
 Sometimes people inject drugs with a syringe. This is
VERY DANGEROUS. Dirty needles can cause infections
of the skin and blood. In particular, if you share a
needle with someone who has the HIV / AIDS virus, you
can get AIDS yourself. It is also possible to catch other
diseases, such as hepatitis, this way. DON'T INJECT
DRUGS
 WHAT CAN I DO IF SOMEONE OFFERS ME
DRUGS?
 Sometimes, when people offer drugs, they tell untrue stories about the
drugs.

current earthly sufferings, people are going to have new life in
new Eden when new

 REMEMBER: Only use drugs with a doctor's prescription.
 REMEMBER: Illegal possession of drugs can lead to prison.
