 Hakikat Adab dan Peradaban
Peradaban memiliki kaitan yang erat dengan kebudayaan, dimana pada hakikatnya kebudayaan
merupakan hasil cipta, rasa, dan karsa manusia dalam memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya.
Kebudayaan berasal dari bahasa inggris, yakni “Culture”, istilah peradaban sering dipakai untuk
menunjukkan pendapat dan penilaian kita terhadap perkembangan kebudayaan.

Peradaban berasal dari kata “Adab”, yang dapat diartikan sopan, berbudi pekerti, luhur, mulia,
berakhlak, yang semuanya menunjuk pada sifat yang tinggi dan mulia. Oleh karena itu, dapat
disimpulkan bahwa peradaban merupakan tahap tertentu dari kebudayaan masyarakat tertentu pula,
yang telah mencapai kemajuan tertentu yang dicirikan oleh tingkat ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, dan
seni yang telah maju.
Sementara itu, menurut Koentjaraningrat menyatakan bahwa peradaban itu untuk menyebut bagian dan
unsur kebudayaan yang halus, maju, dan indah seperti misalnya kesenian, ilmu pengetahuan, adat sopan
santun pergaulan, kepandaian menulis, organisasi kenegaraan, kebudayaan yang mempunyai system
teknologi, dan masyarakat kota yang maju dan kompleks.
Tingginya rendahnya peradaban sutau bangsa dipengaruhi oleh pendidikan dan kemajuian teknologi dan
ilmu pengetahuan

Manusia Sebagai Makhluk Beradab
Manusia sebagai makhluk beradab artinya pribadi manusia itu memiliki potensi untuk
berlaku adab, atau sopan, berakhlak, dan berbudi pekerti yang luhur. Orang yang beradab
adalah orang tang berkesopanan, berakhlah, dan berbudi pekerti yang luhue dalam perilaku,
termasuk pula dalam gagasan-gagasannya.
Pada hakikatnya manusia adalah makhluk yang beradab sebab di anugerahi harkat,
martabat serta potensi kemanusiaan yang tinggi, tetapi dalam perkembangannya manusia bias
jatuh dalam perilaku kebiadaban karena tidak mampu menyeimbangkan atau mengendalikan
cipta, rasa, dan karya yang dimilikinya.
Menusia beradab pastilah berkeinginan membantu masyarakat yang beradab, sehingga
terbentuklah masyarakat adab atau berkeadaban. Masyarakat adab pada dasarnya merupakan
keinginan yang tulus dari manusia sebagai makhluk yang beradab
Peradaban tidak hanya merujuk pada hasil-hasil kebudayaan manusia yang sifatnya fisik saja,
tetapi juga pada wujud gagasan dan perilaku
 Evolusi Budaya dan Tahap-Tahap

Proses Evolusi dan wujud peradaban dalam kehidupan social budaya di

anataranya proses evolusi social budaya yang dapat dipandang dalam
dinamika kehidupan sehari-hari.
Peradaban merupakan tahapan dari evolusi budaya yang telah berjalan
bertahap dan berkesinambungan, memperlihatkan karakter yang khas pada
tahapan tersebut, yang dicirikan oleh kualitas tertentu dari unsur budaya
yang menonjol, meliputi tingkat ilmu pengetahuan, seni, teknologi, dan
spiritualitas yang tinggi.
Masyarakat
beradab
Perubahan social lazim terjadi pada setiap
masyarakat. Hal ini dipengaruhi karena manusia,
sebagai makhluk indivdu juga makhluk sosial,
manusia memiliki karakteristik yang dinamis,
sehingga semuanya pasti mengalami perubahan.
Perubahan tersebut pada umumnya mengarah
pada kemajuan atau perkembangan, tapi ada pula
yang mengarah pada kemunduran atau bahkan
kepunahan. Berdasarakan perubahan-perubahan
sosial itu, maka peradaban manusia juga dinamis
dan terus berkembang, sehingga dikenal beberapa
kelompok masyarakat dalam setiap perubahan
sosial, di antaranya sebagai berikut :
 01 Masyarakat Tradisional
Masyarakat tradisional adalah masyarakat masyarakat yang
kehidupannya masih banyak dikuasai oleh adat istiadat
lama. Adat istiadat adalah suatu aturan yang sudah mantap
dan mencakup segala konsepsi sistem budaya yang
mengatur tindakan atau perbuatan manusia dalam kehidupan
sosialnya. Jadi, masyarakat tradisional di dalam
melangsungkan kehidupannya berdasarkan pada cara-cara
atau kebiasaan-kebiasaan lama yang masih diwarisi dari
nenek moyangnya. Kehidupan mereka belum terlalu
dipengaruhi oleh perubahan-perubahan yang berasal dari
luar lingkungan sosialnya. Kebudayaan masyarakat
tradisional merupakan hasil adaptasi terhadap lingkungan
alam dan sosial sekitarnya tanpa menerima pengaruh luar
(Ifzanul, 2010).
