ADC0808
ADC0809 is an 8-bit analog to digital converter

The reference voltage is 5V.

2 Channels are used out of 8 channels.

Successive approximation is the conversion technique.

The 8-channel multiplexer can directly access any of

8-single-ended analog signals.

ZIGBEE
XBee-PRO ZB RF module that we use , consists of ZigBee firmware
loaded onto XBee S2 and S2B hardware.
These modules are designed to operate within the ZigBee protocol
and support the unique needs of low-cost, low-power wireless sensor
networks.
The modules require minimal power and provide reliable delivery of
data between remote devices and operate within the ISM 2.4 GHz
frequency band .

SPECIFICATIONS:
•Indoor/Urban: up to 90 m
•Outdoor line-of-sight: up to 2 miles (3200 m)
•Transmit Power: 63mW (18dBm)
•Receiver Sensitivity: -102 dBm
Department of E&C,SJCIT
CONFIGURATION
 The XBee modules were designed to mount into a receptacle (socket) and
therefore does not require any soldering when mounting it to a board.

 The XBee-PRO Development Kits contain RS-232 and USB interface boards
which use two 20-pin receptacles to receive modules.

 The S2B modules that has the programmable option populated have a
secondary processor with 32k of flash and 2k of RAM.

 Digi provides a bootloader that can take care of programming the processor
over the air or through the serial interface.

Department of E&C,SJCIT
RF MODULE OPERATION

Through its serial port, the module can communicate with any logic and
voltage compatible UART; or through a level translator to any serial device (for
example: through a RS-232 or USB interface board)

Department of E&C,SJCIT
Continued

Data enters the module UART through the DIN (pin 3) as an

asynchronous serial signal. The signal should idle high
when no data is being transmitted.

20x4 line Alphanumeric LCD

Department of E&C,SJCIT
Thin, flat electronic visual display.

 Uses the light modulating properties of liquid crystals

LCD primarily consists of some liquid crystal material

between them of two glass plates.

Many LCDs are ruminative, they use only atmosphere

light to illuminate the display.

Used in calculators to a full color LCD television.

SOFTWARES
Embedded C

Keil Compiler

Flash Magic

Department of E&C,SJCIT
ADVANTAGES
Economical
Thin, flexible, robust
Simple one piece construction
Operates in a large temperature range
Provides greater accuracy than tradition
potentiometer
Able to withstand exposure to moisture in harsh
environment

Department of E&C,SJCIT
LIMITATIONS
Flex sensors are sensitive to small bends.

The result of this arrangement is that the output

voltage increases with increasing deflection.

Cannot be applicable to patients who are not

conscious
