Behold the Lamb of God

Pastor John Isaacs Kingsway Community Church April 24, 2011

John 1:29
The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said,

Behold, the Lamb of God,

who takes away the sin of the world!

The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples, and he looked at Jesus as he walked by and said,

"Behold, the Lamb of God!"

Isaiah 53:7
He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet He never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the

slaughter. And as a sheep is

silent before the shearers, He did not open his mouth.

Romans 8:3
The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin s control over us by giving His Son as a sacrifice for our sins.

1 Corinthians 5:7
Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.

Hebrews 9:23-28
That is why the Tabernacle and everything in it, which were copies of things in heaven, had to be purified by the blood of animals. But the real things in heaven had to be purified with far better sacrifices than the blood of animals. 24 For
Christ did not enter into a holy place

made with human hands, which was only a copy of the true one in heaven. He entered into heaven itself to appear now before God on our behalf. 25 And he did not enter heaven to offer himself again and again, like the high priest here on earth who enters the Most Holy Place year after year with the blood of an

animal. 26 If that had been necessary, Christ would have had to die again and again, ever since the world began. But now, once for all time, He has appeared at the end of the age to remove sin by His own death as a sacrifice. 27 And just as each person is destined to die once and after that

comes judgment, 28 so also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for Him.

waiting for Him.

Revelation 7:9-11
9

After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and

before the Lamb. They were

clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. 10 And they were shouting with a mighty shout,

Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!
11

And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living beings. And they fell before the throne with their faces to the ground and worshiped God.
