FOREWORD : PROGRESS CALCULATION 1/3

PHYSICAL PROGRESS

ACTUAL PERFORMED WORK _________________________________ PLANNED WORK TO BE PERFORMED

The progress is measured at work step / item level. Upper levels are automatically calculated .

NOTE: For some disciplines which do not require a detailed progress, the system allows a direct input of the progress at batch level (= discipline / unit) or at type of work level (if any)

INPUT WEEKLY DATA

First make sure you are updating the correct week

Then add the batch that havent started yet if necessary

Input the weekly direct Manhours at TOW level here

The progress can be directly input here at TOW level or calculated by clicking on the line (see next slide)

25

INPUT WEEKLY DATA : detailed progress

Input the detail of the progress in this table

26

INPUT WEEKLY DATA : general advise

Advise : you can input directly the progress at TOW level if available (from external detailed calculation, subcontractor detailled reports, ) or calculate it directly by checking on site, but you should involve TP supervision in order to validate the information ! Advise : Do not modify the quantities, it would change the weighing and therefore the previous progress input only when you process the data Advise : Make Backup after each update

CALENDAR

The Change Current week panel can be accessed from the main menu or by clicking on the week number on the spent manhours & Actual progress panel If you wish to update a previous week you have to select the update mode after changing week. After updating, you will have to process the Actual progress from that week

* Shows it is a cut-off date (end of month for report calculation)

REPORTS : PRODUCTIVE MANPOWER CURVE 2/2

The forecast curve and histogram of manhours are trends. In case of an increase of manhours, CPMS recalculates the forecast curve and histogram with the same increase of manhours until the end. This can lead to important deviations, especially at the beginning of an activity !

42

REPORTS : NON PRODUCTIVE MANPOWER HISTOGRAM

43

REPORTS : WORK PRODUCTIVITY CURVE 1/2

44

REPORTS : WORK PRODUCTIVITY CURVE 2/2

Work productivity =

100 x

Actual Hours to perform a job Planned hours for that job

100 x

Actual Hours to date

Planned hours for the progress to date (=earned hours)

Exemple :
Planned progress Planned hours Actual progess Actual hours Period 1 Period 2 Period 3 Period 4 Period 5 Period 6 Period 7 Period 8 Period 9 Period 10 5% 15% 25% 35% 50% 65% 80% 90% 95% 100% 100hrs 8 250 300hrs 16 390 500hrs 23 350 700hrs 1000hrs 1300hrs 1600hrs 1800hrs 1900hrs 2000hrs 29 580 40 760 50 950

OTHER FUNCTIONS

Alternate System Copy

weighting

progress

/ Past to EXCEL through PDF

47

Alternate weighting

Allows to calculate the progress based on the same data and input progess with different Weight Factors Only Bar Chart and Curve reports are available in this mode.

Typical use : calculation of the % of BCWP (Budgeted Cost of Work Performed) using weight factors based on Activities cost (upon Clients request)
48

System Progress 1/2

Needed for the precommissioning preparation

Example with the piping activity :

Activities service air blowing

Activities Pipe rack erection Equipment erection Pumps erection Paving

Piping schedule

Demi water flushing Steam blowing Line reinstatment

The items must match both the work breakdown and the system breakdown
