Picture Number
Picture number
Basically this activity focusing on the geometrical shapes where the pupils can guess what kind of shapes they are, besides solving the questions given by the teacher at the same time. It is suitable for the lower Primary levels which is Primary 3.
Pupils will be divided into 4 group consists of 3 to 4 people. Each group will take turns on choosing any number (1-9) that have been provided on the manila card.
If the first group can answer the question correctly, the teacher will open the chosen number and later reveal the little part of the unknown picture. If the first group cannot answer correctly, the question will be pass to the second group. Same goes to the second group if they cannot answer the question, the question will be pass to the third group. The group cannot tell the teacher or to their opponents what is the picture if they already know it. Only the group who pick the last selected number can tell the last bit of the picture.
Materials needed
One big Manila card with an unknown picture that are being hidden by the number 1-9.
These type of game is suitable for the lower or upper primary level. It focus on the basic multiplication. It is really fun when we try on the lower primary pupils as we can know their achievements in doing mentally.
Able to help in increasing the pupils thinking skills in mathematics concept. If this game is played in groups, it will help the pupils on how to cooperate with each other. Able to make the pupils to think fast by counting mentally.
Materials needed
Manila cards that are being cut into any geometrical shapes but must be big enough as the manila cards will be given a written number on them.
The player needs to run to get the answer on the board and grab it as fast as he or she can. The first player who can answer, have to exit the game, same goes to the second , third and fourth players. The group have answer the most, they are the winner.
Magic Number
Magic number
This game is suitable for the upper Primary level. It is dealing with a large numbers as in 3 to 6 digits number. Later the numbers will be divided by 13, then 11 and lastly by 7. It is a very fun game!!
Able to make the pupils to use their thinking skills on doing the long division. Able to boost the pupils interest on doing it one more time.
Materials needed:
Second, write the number that you have chosen once again to make it six digit numbers. For e.g.: 234 becomes 234234.
Then, divide the number by 13.
The answer that have been divided by 13 will again be divided by 11. Lastly, the answer that have been divided by 11 will again be divided by 7. The answer will be the three digits that the pupils have chosen earlier.
A Riddle
It is a game where it will test the pupils mind on how to solve the problem solving base on basic operations. It is quite tricky and it is fun to play.
Able to test the pupils listening skills without any visual being provided. Able to know how the pupils will solve the problem solving by using their thinking skills.
The teacher will ask all of the pupils one question at the same time and they need to listen carefully. The pupil that can answer quickly by raising up his or her hands will be the winner.
E.g. of the riddle: Abu has 21 goats. During Hari Raya Aidil Adha, he slaughtered all of his goats except 5 of his baby goats. How many goats that were left?
