INTRODUCTION
The UB group was founded in 1857.
Founder- Thomas Leishman. Vittal Mallaya was elected as first Indian director

in 1947. Initially it started manufacturing bulk beer for British troops. KINGFISHER the companys most profitable brand, made a modest entry during 1960s.

INTRODUCTION
The UB Group formed long relationship with Hoechst

AG of Germany to create the Indian pharmaceutical company, currently known as Aventis Pharma, Indian subsidiary of the global Pharma major Sanofi-Aventis.
The UB Group controls 60% of the total beer in India.

It has undisputed market leadership with over 50%

market share of India.
