Plant Process Control Systems

Course lntroduotion
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, students should be
able to:
Describe and explain the various regulatory
process control strategies and technology
Evaluate single and multivariable system and
select the appropriate control scheme for a
given application
Describe and implement process control
schemes using Distributed Control System
(DCS)
Process Control
Control is an important element in manufacturing
and industry. Why it is important?
Process control is regulation of a controlled
variable around a desired set point.
Process plants can be operated in either
continuous or batch.
Process control system deal with all phases of
matter - solid, liquid and vapour.
