Currently, Iacocca works with a company designing electric bikes. He also active in many foundation like Iacocca Foundation for Diabetes Research. He also chaired many organizations, including the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Centennial Commissions and the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation. Others, he appeared in politics situations. Latest, he has endorsed New Mexico Governer Bill Richardson for President in the 2008 Presidential Election. He led the funding campaign to expand Lehigh University into buildings. Center Valley, Pa. The Tv/Film Studios are named for Iacocca for donating generous amounts of money to the University and Tv/Film program.

July 2005, he return to Chrysler and help to promote Chrysler. He appeared in Chrysler ads along with stars Jason Alexander and Snoop Dog and other commercial. A spokesman for Iacocca Foundation also published books; Iacocca: An Autobiography(1984), Talking Straight(1988) and Where Have All The Leaders Gone(2007).
