PERFORMANCE ACCORDING TO CANDIDATES GROUP Candidates in the High Achievement Group Candidates in this group could answer the number of questions as required. There are also candidates who answered more than 4 questions in Section B and more than 2 questions in Section C. Candidates understood the questions asked, used the formula and the correct method, applied the concept correctly and could solve problems with a neat and precise working. Candidates have good knowledge and application of in Additional Mathematics based on response given by the candidates. Candidates seldom made careless mistakes during the process, could understand and mastered the concept in the topics answered. Most of the candidates were able to answer the questions accurately. Solution were organized and systematic. The final answer was correct and in the accuracy required and in accordance to the mark scheme.

Candidates in the Average Achievement Group The performance of candidates is satisfactory. Candidates were able to master many questions that tested on basic skill, but had problems in the application questions. Candidates could write the answers or solutions to some or most of the questions, but continued to face problems with the questions of high level of difficulty. The answers reflected their understanding of the syllabus content, but they had not mastered the skills enough to apply the concepts in certain contexts. Sometimes the calculation were irregular and inappropriate. Candidates made careless mistakes in calculation and algebraic manipulation. Candidates were unable to answer well in several questions such as 2, 3(c), 4(b), 5(c) and 6(b) from Section A and question 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 15(c)(ii). The working shown by these candidates were not systematically done and many crucial steps were missing or not clearly shown. There were some candidates who were not confident and not sure of the working and this caused them to give alternatives solutions for the same question or part of the question.

Candidates in the Low Achievement Group Candidates did not master basic Mathematics concept, so they had problems involving algebra. Candidates only have basic knowledge in the Mathematics application, only abled to answer simple questions. Majority could answer Question 1 (Simultaneous Equations), 7 (Linear Law),13 (Index Numbers) and 15 (Linear Programming) only. Most of the questions in Part A were not fully answered or not even attempted at all. Sometimes the symbols and formulas used in their working had nothing to do with the question.
