yA parable is a story that teaches

yJesus used parables to teach

about how people should act.

y We are like the silver coins of the

necklace in the parable. y Each one of us is precious or special to God. y If one of us gets lost or wanders away from Him, God searches patiently for a way to bring us back to Him.

yWe are like the lost coin whenever

we . yWe turn away from God and commit when we choose not to follow the teachings of Jesus. yWhen we , we refuse God s love, but He is always ready to forgive us as long as we show how sorry we are for what we have done.

When we commit sin, we hurt God and we are turning away from Him. yIn order to be with Him again, let s ask forgiveness and promise not to do sin again. When we feel sorry of our sin, it s not hard for the person whom we hurt to forgive us.

In order to be with Him again, let s ask forgiveness and promise not to do sin again. When we feel sorry of our sin, it s not hard for the person whom we hurt to forgive us.

Why do we say sorry? We say sorry because we have hurt someone we love. This is also true in our relationship with God. We feel sorry when we hurt Him because we love Him and we know that He loves us.

y Jesus forgives us especially in the

Sacrament of Reconciliation. Jesus gives the priest the power to forgive our sins. When we confess our sins to the priest, we are actually confessing to Jesus. When the priest forgives us, it is the loving forgiveness of Jesus that we receive.

How can you be sure that God really forgives us? yWe can be assured that our sins are forgiven because God is a loving and a forgiving Father. yHe loves and cares for us even when we turn away from Him.

When we are forgiven, y He calls us to forgive others too. y When someone hurts us, we must try to forgive the person who has hurt us. y We show that we forgive this person by saying, It s alright. Then we become friends with the person once again. y Forgiveness is a gift from God. It is meant to be shared with others.

yWhen we find it hard to say sorry

or to forgive others, we need to pray and ask the help of the Holy Spirit. yGod also gives us His grace for us to be able to say sorry and to forgive others.

What is Grace? What does it do to us? y the life of God in us; His loving presence in our lives. The grace of God in us: y helps us to say sorry and to forgive others; y helps us to make up and become friends with others; y makes us strong so we can always make good choices; y helps us to know how others are feeling;
