Font: The title of the magazine is behind his head.

The font is bold and clear to the reader as they are large and simple.

Sub- headline: Is directly above the title of the magazine so it is one of the first thing the reader reads. The first part of the writing is in pink and then it changes to black and then a Notorious is in blue to jump out to the reader the main part of the story.

Main story: The main story is in a bigger size font than the other stories on the front page. It is also about Kanye West who is in the main image. Alternate colours have also been used for this piece of text.

Close up shot: Has been used to make eye contact with the reader to draw them in. The expression on his face is highlighted as laid back but he still has a bit of attitude portraying him as cool.

Background: is a subtle grey colour which enhances the brightly coloured fonts and the colour of his skin contrasts with it making him stand out to the reader.

Stories: A list of celebrities appearing in this issue is beside his face in alternate colours for each different celebrity. Colour: They have matched the colour of his collar with the title of the magazine which stands out. The colour also goes with the title of the magazine as it is vibrant.

Logo: The logo is centre left in the background of the contents page and it is coloured a darker grey to go with the colour scheme but also to stand out from the lighter grey.

The writing to the left of him is the designer of the clothes he is wearing so that the reader can maybe purchase them.

Font: The title of the page in in the top right and is the first thing the reader will look at and it has been disjointed to make the page look more interesting. It is also in bold black font which makes a statement and is clear. It also links with the theme of the page.

Mid- shot: Is placed to the left of the page and takes up half the page which automatically makes the reader notice him and the fact that he is making eye contact with the reader will draw them in. The way he is standing reflects his personality and looks powerful even though he is laid back.

To the right of the main image is page numbers in bold so that it is highlighted what page each story is on to the reader. The stories are also in a classy font to interest the reader. In the bottom right hand corner is the name of the person in the image so that the reader know who the main artist is and where the picture was taken and who by.

The red heart is the only colourful thing on the contents page therefore it jumps out to the reader. It also connotes love and also dominant.

In the background is sub-images of the artist in various positions which emphasises her type of personality to the reader.

The costume the artist is wearing stands out to the reader as the background is a grey colour. The red also signifies that she is a fiery person and passionate about her talent.

Solange Knowles is in blue font to highlight to the reader who the article is about. The blue also shows a pureness to her name.

A border has been put on to the layout to show the reader the difference from the story and the background image.

The story on this double page spread is in columns which makes it look clear and also makes it easier for the reader to read.

In a bold black font is a quote taken from the story to stand out to the reader how the artist feels which makes the audience sympathise with her.

Layout: On the front cover all the writing is around the main image. There is quite a lot going on in the front cover which can confuse the reader Title: Is behind the main image in a big sized font to show the reader the title of the magazine.

Main image: Is a medium close up of 50 Cent. It shows the reader that he is a serious person and also is buff as it is showing off his biceps which highlights his masculinity. This also makes him look powerful.

Masthead: Is in a bold white font to contrast with the colours of the main image. It is also telling the reader that the person in the main image is the main focus of this issue and says their opinion that he is a Hip-Hop Icon

Sub-stories: are to the right of the front cover and they are also in a white writing to contrast from the main image colours which stands out to the audience. Barcode: This shows the price of the magazine to the reader.

The date is a stylistic feature as it is the release date of the magazine.

The title of the page is in a Symbols font which says In the mix. This suggests to the reader that there is a hip hop style theme to the page. It also relates to music as mix refers to DJ turn tables.

Main image dominates the page due to the body language that the artist conveys himself to the reader as powerful and a threat. Also as it takes up half the page it emphasises that he is the main focus.

To the right half of the page is the page numbers in red and the contents on each page in black. The reason for the both being different colours is so that the reader can easily see the page number. The font is quite small due to a lot of content in the magazine.

The number 48 is coloured in a red colour to indicate to the reader that this is the 48th issue of the magazine.

The headline is in a bold black font and the words Pure Genius imply to the reader that the artist is a clever person musically.

The sub-heading underneath the headline is in red to go with the theme of the page and also to show the difference between the two.

In the middle of the article the publisher has quoted one of the things that the artist has said. It is in a red font to emphasise to the reader the importance of the quote.

The main image takes up a whole page on the double page spread. This indicates that the artist is powerful and confident. This can also be shown through his body language and his position he is standing in. The fact that he has his hand resting on his chin suggests that he is laid back and makes him look knowledgeable

The dim lighting adds a subtle coolness to the contents page. It also gives the contents page a calm effect to the reader. It also makes the black and white theme look more classy.

Master plan is the title of contents page which suggests to the reader that the magazine is informal. It also conveys that the magazine is different to normal music magazines.

The main image of the girl portrays her as a sex symbol due to the lack of clothing she is wearing. She also looks feminine to the reader by the way she is standing with her arms behind her back.

The S symbol at the top and bottom of the contents page list is the logo for the magazine and

The font is all capital letters exactly the same size which gives a uniform effect which is reflected of the whole double page spread.
