Insulation Soak
Insulation Soak
This test monitors the leakage resistance from the test leads to ground. It indicates changes in the Insulation resistance while stressed with a high voltage over time
The test begins by displaying the insulation resistance of the Red(Ring/B) lead in the upper left box. This reading is live and will change as the insulation resistance on the lead changes. After the reading has become stable, the 950ADSL2 Plus stores the value in the right hand box. Observe the live reading as it changes over time, this gives an indication of the nature of the problem : Wet cable faults tend to dry out when tested. The live value will become higher than the reference value Oxidation at faults tends to break down and become conductive over time. The live value will become lower than the reference value
